Battlestar Galactica Finale

What a great ending to an excellent series! Synchronicity, Ancient Astronauts, the War in Heaven, the Apocalypse aka Revealing, the Matrix, Transhumanist warning, Yugas, (Enochian) Angels and Watchtowers and so much more thought-provoking fictional(?) material.
Closed Captioning or Cosmic Consciousness? You decide ;).
The Cylon Base where Hera is held. Or Masonic (messy) Point in Circle.
All who recognize the eye on the pyramid in the back raise your hands.
Here is the eye in the triangle.
The Opera House, or the Akashik Record memory, collective unconscious or meeting place that the chosen few can be tuned into through dreams, entheogens, wormhole stargate travel, visions, etc. Gots to have some pentagrams in the stairway to heaven decoration.
"I've been here before." Baltar
"All the world's a stage." Shakespeare
The final five and the CIC is the opera house.
CIC: Combat Information Center. (Akashik) Knowledge is power.
AndersMr. Anderson, Neo from the Matrix.
"See you on the other side." Anders' last words.
The showdown:
Baltar: Hera's not a thing. She's a child. And she holds the key to humanity's survival as well. (mitochondrial cylon-human hybrid Eve!)
Cavill: And how do you know that?
Baltar: I see angels, angels in this very room, now I may be mad, but that doesn't mean I'm not right. Because there's another force at work here, there always has been. It's undeniable, we've all experienced it, everyone in this room has witnessed events that they can't fathom, let alone explain away by rational means. Puzzles, deciphered in prophecy. Dreams given to a chosen few. Our loved ones, dead, risen. Wether we wanna call that God, or Gods, or some sublime inspiration, or a divine force that we can't, nor understand... it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. It's here, it exists, and our two destinies are entwined with this force.
Cavill: If that were true, and that's a big if. How do I know this force has our best interest in mind? How do you know that God is on your side, Dr.?
Balthar: I don't. God's not on any one side. God's a force of nature. Beyond good and evil. Good and evil, we created those. Want to break the cycle? Break the cycle of birth, death, rebirth, destruction, escape, death. And that's in our hands, and our hands only. But it requires a leap of faith. Requires that we live in hope not fear.
from io9.com: After a tense scene between Adama, the Final Five, and Cavil, the groups declare a cease-fire. On the condition that the Final Five hand over schematics for resurrection technology to Cavil.

Unfortunately, the Final Five have do some brain-bonding in Anders' goo to deliver the resurrection formula, at which point Tyrol reads Tory's mind and finds out she killed his wife Cally. He breaks the brain bond to murder her, and Cavil's crew thinks they've been double-crossed. A horrendous gunfight follows, which is concluded only by a direct intervention from the divine.
The "hand of God", remember the Beatles post? Somehow the hand of a dead pilot pushes the red button to destroy the Cylon base.
Here's how it goes down. Racetrack's Viper, all powered up with nukes, has been taken out by a rock to the windshield. But Racetrack's dead hand slips, hits the "crash nukes into the colony" button, and the whole cylon colony starts to go mushroom. So the Galactica needs to jump out of the burn fast, and Starbuck has to guess at which coordinates the failing ship should jump to. Luckily, she has a vision from God, connected to the Bob Dylan music, and she's guided into choosing the coordinates for the planet that you and I know as Earth.
Boom
Starbuck is the chosen one to dial in her last ever jump musical coordinates, the number starting with sync favorites 11 & 23.
Earth baby! The New Earth, same same but different as the old Earth!
Five Ancient Astronauts in a row!Bringing civilization
"Break the cycle", they fly their remaining tech into the sun and begin anew.
Starbuck "I've completed my journey." and just disappears into nothingness
"Kara is what you want her to be. It's easy to put the label on her of angel or messenger of God. Kara Thrace died, was resurrected, and came back and took the people to their final end. That was destiny in the show." Ronald D. Moore
The Dharma project has arrived ;)
skip to the future...
Baltar and Six with Ronald D. Moore cameo
"We never tried to name exactly what we called the Head-Baltar and Head-Six throughout the show internally, and we never really looked at them as angels or demons, because they would periodically say evil things and good things, and they tended to save people and tended to damn people. There was a sense that they worked in service of something else—you could say a higher power or you could say another power—that was guiding and helping, sometimes obstructing, sometimes tempting the mortal people in the show. The idea at the very end was whatever they are in service of continues and is eternal and is always around. And they too are still around, and they too are still here with us, with all of us who are the children of Hera, and in one way, shape or form they continue to walk among us and watch, and at some point they may or may not intercede at a key moment. That was the concept behind the last images." Ronald D. Moore
Six: Commercialism, decadence, technology run amok, remind you of anything?
Baltar: Take your pick. Cobol, Earth, the real Earth before this one, Caprica before the fall.
Six: All of this has happened before.
Baltar: But the question remains, does all of this has to happen again?
Six: This time I bet no.
Baltar: You know I've never known you to be the optimist, why the sudden change of heart?
Six: Mathematics, law of averages. Let a complex system repeat itself long enough eventually something surprising might occur, that too is in Gods plan.
Baltar: You know he doesn't like that name. (!) Silly me, silly silly me. (the fool)
There must be some kind of way out of here, said the joker (fool) to the thief.
There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief. All along the watchtower...
Too much confusion, too much complexity? (See mayan calender, timewave zero, etc) So a reboot to more simpler times? A Watchtower is a spirit guardian of one of the four cardinal points in ceremonial magick. Alternately, the Watchtowers are the abodes of the guardians. Often believed to represent the four elements, the Watchtowers are invoked during ritual to cast the magick circle. They may be pictured in the imagination or represented with tablets or other physical symbols.
From the Hidden Agendas Blog:
"John Dee understood the apocalypse in the traditional Christian sense. This is not-exactly the same as the way the Enochian Angels understand it. To Dee, the apocalypse was to be a series of physical disasters brought about by the angelic agents of God at the will of God and at a preordained time. However, it is implicit from the Enochian conversations that the apocalypse will begin with the opening of the gates of the Watchtowers, and that these gates can only be opened by humankind from the inside. Enochian magic is the tool delivered by the angels that will enable humankind to open the gates...
The Enochian communications teach us that not only must humanity itself initiate the cosmic drama of the apocalypse through the magical formula delivered to John Dee and Edward Kelley more than 4 centuries ago, but humans must also be the physical actors that bring about the plagues, wars, and famines described with such chilling eloquence in the vision of St. John. : "We must let the demons of Coronzon into our minds by means of a specific ritual working. They will not find a welcome place there all at once, but will worm their way into our subconscious and make their homes there slowly over a period of years or even decades. In the minds of individuals that resist this invasion they will find it difficult to gain a foothold, but in the more pliable minds of those who welcome their influence they will establish themselves readily."
Princes kept the view, (establishment...)
While all the women came and went. Barefoot servants too.
Outside in the cold distance, A wildcat did growl.
Two riders were approaching, and the wind began to howl.
(versus the untamed power of nature/divine/...?)
David Icke? ;) In the original, the Cylons were not created by man,
but by a lost and gone ancient reptilian race...

Great stuff Droidy! Saw the serie final yesterday and to me it couldn't have been better to end the serie like that. Being a fan of both BSG and the SecretSun (and droidy needless to say! ;) my jaw totally dropped when they went AAT (and much much more) in that way. Was one of those "You gotta be frAkkin' kiddin' me" moments....A blissfull moment in a way.....Great final, I couldn't spend enough good words for this TV serie and its deep meanings...one of the best of all times for sure!

Nah, they're all in the Matrix. See digital organisms and evolutionary algorithms.

A god that doesn't want to be called god is a computer programmer running cycles of ev algorithms... with random input [the immortal angels] to see how it affects the equation.

Of course, that's all our reality is too ;) Maybe.

You have it all figured out, God is a nerd! Maybe, LOL

Very very cool post. There was another sync in the air time. TiVo in my area was showing it as running 9:00-11:11. Not to mention the fact that it aired on the equinox. An interesting schedule for a show about the end/beginning of the human race, no?

Droidy--

The run time of the BSG finale on Tivo was 2 hours 11 minutes (2X11 = 11:11) on the spring equinox (3/20 = 23)

I also caught the David "Icke" reference, which was extremely amusing.

I appreciate that you enjoyed the finale. Almost everyone I know who is a BSG fan hated the finale. I loved it. When I tried to explain to them about ancient astronauts, breaking the Karmic cycle, miracles from God and the Kosmic Konsciousness, they looked at me like I needed to be committed.

This ending was perfect it mirrored the show in its entirety, from the 9/11 event of Caprica and the finale during the 6th day of the Mayan Galactic(a) Underworld.

It's a waste of breath to try to convince people that the "God" answer is not lazy writing on Moore's part. I am more comfortable in saying "I loved the finale, you didn't--sucks to be you." Moore was fully SELF-aware that we are entering an age of miracles and it takes a bit of insanity to fully comprehend an "unsane" world, to borrow from Michael Tsarion.

Interesting to see the ads for the new series "Stargate Universe" and Warehouse 13, as we will soon enter the Mayan (Stargate) Universal Underworld in 2011.

Ya'll do know that David Eick is a real dude though, right?

That's not just a clever reference...

"David Eick is also a co-creator, executive producer, and writer of Battlestar Galactica. Prior to his involvement in Battlestar Galactica, David was Executive Vice President of USA Cable Entertainment (USACE), where he was the company’s point person to the creative community and oversaw all aspects of the division, which developed, financed and acquired product for initial exhibition on USA Network and SCI FI Channel. While there, the studio produced USA Network’s critically lauded drama series Touching Evil, as well as the hit series Monk. Prior to his network experience, David spent six years at Renaissance Pictures, where he held a variety of positions and produced the hugely successful syndicated series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. David also co-developed and launched its successful spinoff, Xena: Warrior Princess. Additionally, David also produced many others shows. He recently developed The Bionic Woman for NBC. David graduated from the University of Redlands in California with a BA in political science. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife and three children."

Now, if it was co-produced by a "Van Dannikens" - that would've been clever :)
