Barack Obama's pastor Wright's Sermon in Context

The point of Pastor Wright's sermon is that America has been and remains a deeply racist country. Instead of seeing an impassioned African American leader whose message is, well, farily accurate the Mainstream Media only sees an angry black man screaming "goddamn America". I think they just proved him right.

Thanks Rich

Too bad Obama doesn't listen to his freaking awesome pastor and became a political puppet who will change as much as Clinton or McCain will: nothing.

The Great Bank Robbery

Banking is a ponzi scam. Banking is nothing but a government sactioned, giant multi-level game. It is a pyramid scam that makes all other scams look like child’s play. At the top of the pyramid is the Federal Reserve Board, and their owners. At the bottom are the little local branches of all the different state and national banks. As in all pyramid scams, the small branches at the bottom will fall first, taking most of the heat off those at the top. But eventually the pyramid must topple. In fact, we already hear the rumble of the pyramid starting to fall.

Of all the crazy shit going on in the world, this is one of the easiest to explain to people calmly (don't go all religious on their hiney). I mean, does anyone think it's normal to pay money... to take money out the bank? Seriously. Today someone I know who's very blue pill said Bankers are the biggest gangsters on the planet. That was only one of the few bright points of my crappy day, but it counts!

Pure Blasphemy

Spirituality says that god is within us and that we don't need anyone else to make that divine connection for us
Religion says that we are separated from god and that we need "them" to make that divine connection

Spirituality says that we are free to make choices on our own and that we must take personal responsibility for our actions
Religion says we must make their choices and act their way

The theme of spirituality is unconditional love
The theme of religion is fear and guilt

Spirituality does not require us to make donations
Religion has become big business

Spirituality says there is no hell, no judgement, no angry god... That we are loved unconditionally
Religion says there is a hell, god gets angry and judges us... Therefore, we are not loved unconditionally

Spirituality says we are free to choose our own path to god
Religion commands us to do it their way

Spirituality says we go to god to lighten our burden
Religion has taught us to fear their god

Spirituality says we should not be ashamed of our sexuality... That it should be a sacred celebration of love
Religion has taught us to feel ashamed, guilty and dirty about our sexuality

Spirituality teaches us to honor and respect mother earth
Religion has told us to "be thou fruitful, multiply and subdue the earth" i repeat... "Subdue the earth

Spirituality reminds us that we are one with god and one with each other
Religion teaches disunity and separation which is the opposite of god

Spirituality says god is within
Religion says he is in heaven and that "they" are the only intermediaries for u

Spirituality says we are born in innocence and purity
Religion says we are born with sin

Spirituality teaches that we are on a long spiritual adventure and journey which will ultimately end by reuniting with our source
Religion says we've got one life to get it all right and there is nothing but heaven or hell after that

Spirituality says we are free to expres
Religion gave us the dreaded inquisition

Spirituality teaches unconditional love for all
Religion gave us the crusades in which many were killed and slaughtered in the name of god

Spirituality teaches that we should love one another unconditionally and always honor the rights and choices of others
Religion treated native americans, the mayans and other indigenous cultures as savage primitives who "must be saved"

Spirituality teaches peace and harmony
Religion has caused more wars and more killing than any other reason

Spirituality says respect all living things
I never once heard any religion say stop slaughtering millions of trees every year for christ's birthday

Spirituality teaches us to have faith in ourselves
Religion teaches us to have faith in them

Spirituality says we have all the answers... That we can find them by "going within"
Religion teaches us that it has all the answers and only its answers are the right ones

Spirituality teaches us to search for the universal truths and our hearts will tell us when we have found them
Religion teaches we have no choice but to accept their version of the truth

Which one feels better to you? Spirituality or religion?
Go to your heart for the answer. It will never lie to you

My summary:
Religion is a dogmatic belief system.
Spirituality to me is a catma way of life (of which aspects can be dogmatically interpreted too by the less intelligent). (PS: Spirituality is NOT equal to the New Age Belief System)

Dogma: absolute belief or doctrine held by a religion, ideology or any kind of organization, thought to be authoritative and not to be disputed, doubted or diverged from.
Catma: relative meta-beliefs or flexible opinions held by a person, thought to be interesting, likely or profound at most, hopefully only one of many views in that area, to be investigated and questioned continually, laughed at and perhaps even re-modelled, just for fun. (You get the idea ;p)

"He who looks outside dreams,
he who looks inside awakes."
Carl Gustav Jung

"Only in quiet waters things mirror themselves undistorted. Only in a quiet mind is adequate perception of the world." Hans Margolius

Meditation, the most powerful mind tool ever developed.
# Activates the 5th Neurosomatic Circuit (See 8 Circuits of Consciousness Model)
# Which means we let go of our Physical, Emotional, Logical and Social circuits and become the witness of our bodily sensations, emotions and our thoughts instead of identifying with them.
# Leads to a blissful witnessing zen state of mind (comparable to Marijuana)
# A better connection between mind and body (Hypnosis & NLP also work on the 5th Circuit).
# Multidimensional thinking as patterns, habits, programming and conditioning lessen.
# Meditation has been proven to improve creativity, intelligence, memory, alertness.
# It has been shown to improve physical, mental, and emotional health.
# By looking within we can really know and experience reality, instead of being limited to our beliefs or intellectual conceptions of it.
# We gain the freedom to choose whether or not to act on our thoughts and emotions.
# We learn to distinguish between objective reality and our mental and emotional dramas.
# Increase synchronicities, as the objective outside and the subjective inside worlds merge in a wonderful dance of meaningful coincidences.
# Integrates left and right brain functioning. Increases intuitive capabilities.
# Purifies the Nervous System (What a positive name btw :p)
# Align to the Quantum source energy vibration, a Quantum Symphony.
# Awaken the dormant Kundalini at the base of the spine to energize & evolve us.
# Brain functioning shapes the content of daily experience, in turn each experience shapes the brain.

Meditating twice daily, in the morning right after waking up and in the evening before dinner, is optimal for becoming a more integrated, healthy, conscious being on the road to conscious evolution and enlightenment.

As above, so below.
As within, so without.

Some meditations to try:
Yogani mantra meditation, instructions are in my own words: assume your preferred meditative position, first rest for a little while to get centered, just let your breathing be as it is, keep the mind clear, then introduce the mantra "I am", repeat in your mind as you like, the rhythm that feels right for you, you can change it anytime you want, just repeat it. If thoughts arise, let them pass by as clouds and return your focus to the mantra. You'll find with these instructions that include no breathing-exercises and such a free mantra method to be relatively easy for the beginner. (20 minutes)
Vipassana, instead of repeating a mantra, focus on the silence or on your breath, do not intervene in the breath if you choose breath. Choose one and stick with it. Let everything be, thoughts are not an interruption, they are part of the meditation, let them pass by as clouds and return to the silence or your breath. (30 minutes)
Samuel Sagan's Awakening your third eye with meditation audiobook is a great guided meditation for focusing on your Anja/Ajna chakra, it introduces it with two great general talks and has one lying down and a sitting up meditation. Remarkable effects can be expected soon.
Brain Sync: Awakening Kundalini is a highly recommended audio program for meditation practice, (warning: do not use it daily if you are a beginner or even an advanced meditator) it features a short explanation of kundalini, a short instructional track and then the guided meditation with several different forms or pranayama breathing. It's very powerful compared to other brainwave programs or guided meditations

Student: Master, master! When I meditated earlier I saw a vision of the Buddha!!!!
Master: That's nice, next time concentrate on your breathing and it will go away. :p

Two Types of Meditation by Josh Davis
Basically, meditation can be divided into two main categories:
Apophatic, the "way of negation," and cataphatic, the "way of affirmation." In both practices, the ultimate aim is to reach a state of supreme awareness and bliss. The way one goes about doing such, though, is very different. In apophatic meditation one empties the mind, while in cataphatic one fills it with a visualization, an object, a mantra, or a feeling. The object of focus expands by virtue of one's attention until it fills one's entire universe. Both practices are essential for a healthy approach to mysticism, and to life itself (which are really one and the same--at least for me).

In apophatic and cataphatic meditation alike, the primary issue one must deal with is the useless noise of the mind. Concentrating on something, or concentrating on nothing, quieting extraneous internal chatter may sometimes seem an impossible task. In fact, people have far more control over this than they give themselves credit--the real "you" is the one that witnesses, the experiencer. You are not your thoughts--you are the thinker of your thoughts. If you give them your attention, they will continue. But if you fully remove your attention from your thoughts even for a moment, they will stop.

"You're just left with yourself all the time, whatever you do anyway. You've got to get down to your own God in your own temple. It's all down to you, mate."
John Lennon

As a witness of thoughts, understand that you will not stop thoughts by reacting to them--it is precisely reaction that is holding you back, as reaction requires attention. Simply be aware of your thoughts as they appear and disappear, always returning to your point of focus, be it some thing, or nothing at all.

Apophatic meditation is very difficult to grasp at first, because there is so little that one actually "does." Simply witnessing thoughts without pursuing them may seem like a waste of time to the restless and impatient, who want quick results. For this reason it may be easier for beginners to concentrate on nothing by way of something--that is, make something such as your breathing the point of focus, but once you have eliminated all extraneous thoughts, stop focusing on breathing also, much like a scaffolding that is discarded once the building is constructed.

Another approach to the apophatic way is focusing on being the observer. That is, as thoughts appear in your mind, ask yourself who is thinking them. Observe each thought and let it pass, gradually becoming aware of the unmoving center around which they revolve. Thoughts pass you by. What and where are you? You are the stillness hidden within motion. See for yourself...

John E. Mack - Transcending the Dualistic Mind (transpersonal psychology)

Dr. John Mack, M.D., was a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and professor of psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School who had spent 40 years exploring the question of how our perception of ourselves shapes our perception of the world around us.

The Current Crisis: Transcending the Dualistic Mind. The events of September 11 reflect a growing planetary crisis that is deeper than the attack itself or its social, political and economic causes: We in the West are trapped in a dualistic worldview that reduces reality to simple divisions of good and evil. In his talk, Dr. Mack will discuss explorations of the Center for Psychology and Social Change (now the John E. Mack Institute), especially the study of the UFO encounter phenomenon and other anomalous experiences, that are revealing the possibility of a unifying cosmology that transcends this dualism.

Alfred Korzybski

Since discovering Jacque Fresco's genius work and popularizing it as much as I can, I got contacted by an associate of his and I grabbed the chance to ask if his wonderful way of applying the scientific method to language and society was derived in anyway from Korzybski, who also influenced another one of my heroes Robert Anton Wilson so much, the answer was yes. So I'm gonna read this 900+ page monster of a book called Science and Sanity and put up a little post.

Alfred Korzybski was a Polish-American philosopher and scientist most remembered for developing the theory of general semantics (also check E-Prime)

The essence of Korzybski's work was the view that human beings are limited in what they know by (1) the structure of their nervous systems, and (2) the structure of their languages. Human beings cannot experience the world directly, but only through their "abstractions" (nonverbal impressions or "gleanings" derived from the nervous system, and verbal indicators expressed and derived from language). Sometimes our perceptions and our languages actually mislead us as to the "facts" with which we must deal. Our understanding of what is going on sometimes lacks similarity of structure with what is actually going on. He stressed training in awareness of abstracting, using techniques that he had derived from his study of mathematics and science. He called this awareness, this goal of his system, "consciousness of abstracting." His system included modifying the way we approach the world, e.g., with an attitude of "I don't know; let's see," to better discover or reflect its realities as shown by modern science. One of these techniques involved becoming inwardly and outwardly quiet, an experience that he called, "silence on the objective levels."

Korzybski and to be
Many supporters and critics of Korzybski reduced his rather complex system to a simple matter of what he said about the verb 'to be.' His system, however, is based primarily on such terminology as the different 'orders of abstraction,' and formulations such as 'consciousness of abstracting.' It is often said that Korzybski opposed the use of the verb "to be," an unfortunate exaggeration. He thought that certain uses of the verb "to be," called the "is of identity" and the "is of predication," were faulty in structure, e.g., a statement such as, "Joe is a fool" (said of a person named 'Joe' who has done something that we regard as foolish). In Korzybski's system, one's assessment of Joe belongs to a higher order of abstraction than Joe himself.

Korzybski's remedy was to deny identity; in this example, to be continually aware that 'Joe' is not what we call him. We find Joe not in the verbal domain, the world of words, but the nonverbal domain (the two, he said, amount to different orders of abstraction). This was expressed in Korzybski's most famous premise, "the map is not the territory." Note that this premise uses the phrase "is not", a form of "to be"; this and many other examples show that he did not intend to abandon "to be" as such. In fact, he expressly said that there were no structural problems with the verb "to be" when used as an auxiliary verb or when used to state existence or location. It was even 'OK' sometimes to use the faulty forms of the verb 'to be,' as long as one was aware of their structural limitations.

Anecdote
One day, Korzybski was giving a lecture to a group of students, and he suddenly interrupted the lesson in order to retrieve a packet of biscuits, wrapped in white paper, from his briefcase. He muttered that he just had to eat something, and he asked the students on the seats in the front row, if they would also like a biscuit. A few students took a biscuit. "Nice biscuit, don't you think", said Korzybski, while he took a second one. The students were chewing vigorously. Then he tore the white paper from the biscuits, in order to reveal the original packaging. On it was a big picture of a dog's head and the words "Dog Cookies".
The students looked at the package, and were shocked. Two of them wanted to throw up, put their hands in front of their mouths, and ran out of the lecture hall to the toilet. "You see, ladies and gentlemen", Korzybski remarked, "I have just demonstrated that people don't just eat food, but also words, and that the taste of the former is often outdone by the taste of the latter." Apparently his prank aimed to illustrate how some human suffering originates from the confusion or conflation of linguistic representations of reality and reality itself.

Iraq Winter Soldier Hearings: Victory for Independent Media

In 1971 at age 19, I had a life-changing experience when I met dozens of Vietnam veterans who’d descended on my hometown of Detroit to testify at the “Winter Soldier” hearings organized by Vietnam Veterans Against the War. In anguished presentations, the Vets painstakingly described the horrors against Vietnamese they’d seen or taken part in. And the attitudes of racism and bloodlust that motored the war. Many vets blamed the lies in mainstream media for convincing them to go to Vietnam in the first place.

Virtually every soul in that Detroit hotel banquet hall wept openly at the heartfelt, bone-chilling revelations pouring out of the Vietnam vets struggling with bloody memories and post-traumatic stress. But no one outside that hall could see or hear the proceedings. No TV or radio networks covered the event.

This weekend at the National Labor College near Washington D.C., a new generation of vets convened by Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) presented powerful hearings - “Winter Soldier: Iraq & Afghanistan” - that were more extensive and perhaps even more emotional.

Thirty seven years later, I again found myself sobbing at testimony from solemn young Americans returned from needless war, grappling with shattered lives over brutalities against civilians and prisoners they’d witnessed or participated in.

But I was nowhere near D.C.

This time, I watched the dramatic testimony - often buttressed by photographic and video evidence — live online at www.IVAW.org.

The End of Money?

I hope this freaking world economy collapses before I have to get a job :p

The crisis may actually have far deeper roots, going back to the basis of capitalism itself, an economic system that constantly requires new markets to penetrate and cannot sustain itself without continually extending its reach. In a fully globalized world, where there are no new markets to reach or new resources to exploit, capitalism may have reached its natural limit. It is also imprecise to call the current system “capitalist” in a classical sense, as it is actually one where massive subsidies protect vested interests, from agricultural lobbies to oil companies, and the ideal of a “free market” is a convenient fiction.

In a fully globalized world, the Neoliberal model can only perpetuate itself through the types of shock effects described by Naomi Klein in The Shock Doctrine, where destruction is encouraged and then seized upon as an opportunity to redevelop and recolonize areas already within empire.

We Are All Shamans-in-Training

From Reality Sandwich

My parents bought into the psychiatrist's diagnosis that their only child had a mental illness, as in my parents' world doctors were genuine authority figures who knew what they were talking about. In the words of the late psychiatrist R. D. Laing,

"Attempts to wake before our time are often punished, especially by those who love us most. Because they, bless them, are asleep. They think anyone who wakes up, or who, still asleep, realizes that what is taken to be real is a 'dream' is going crazy."

Tragically, with the support and blessing of the psychiatric community, both of my parents passed away convinced that their son was crazy.

The Age of Criminalizing Children

By Victoria Hardy
I feel compelled to ask, have we all gone insane? When did normal childhood antics become criminal behavior? Have our teachers, principals, school boards, safety officers, administrators and policy makers become so numb, blind and fearful that they can no longer differentiate life threatening events, from simple childish pranks and behaviors? Or is it deeper that that? Are we knowingly training our children to live in a police state where any minor misstep may lead to imprisonment?

The Aliens

The Aliens

you may not believe it
but there are people
who go through life with
very little friction or distress.
they dress well, eat well, sleep well.
they are contented with
their family life.
they have moments of grief
but all in all
they are undisturbed
and often feel very good.
and when they die
it is an easy death,
usually in their sleep.

Top 10 Quotes Against Work

"All paid jobs absorb and degrade the mind." -Aristotle

It was true that I didn’t have much ambition, but there ought to be a place for people without ambition, I mean a better place than the one usually reserved. How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 6:30 a.m. by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, piss, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?”
—Charles Bukowski, Factotum, Black Sparrow Press, 1975

"I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables—slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war . . . our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."

Why why why

"This experience with the homeless has been very meaningful for me. I have come to gain an understanding of the stresses and difficulties the homeless experience on a daily basis. I have gained an appreciation for the ingenuity that most display in going about their lives in a rather hostile environment. Let there be no mistake about it, life on the street is tough and fraught with danger. I was amazed by how very little complaining I heard. The complaint most heard was how terrible it feels to be responded to as if they simply didn't exist. Rather, many said that they would prefer that a passerby say something like 'go f**k yourself, you lazy bastard, get a job' rather than look away as they passed. However, most seemed to recognize that the looking away represented the public's disturbing conflict about the homeless situation.

During the hundreds of hours of exploration and hundreds of contacts, I was responded to in a hostile manner very, very infrequently. Almost universally, people were quite willing and often enthusiastic to tell their stories. Consistently I heard accounts of dysfunctional families of origin, untreated serious addiction and mental illness and a few bad breaks to many. Almost constantly I was reminded how fortunate most of us are having a place called home. Often the thought occurred to me that 'There but for the grace of God, go I'. Perhaps that should be the title for the project."

Adi Shankara clip

Adi Shankara clip

Spoilers :p
Adi Shankara encounters a Chandala (untouchable) and orders him to move. It is actually Lord Shiva in the guise of chandala.

The Chandala makes Shankara realize that the Self ( Truth ) is all pervading but the gross (Body) is transient.

Through this episode, Shankara realizes the main essence of the non-dual Advaita philosophy. Shankara is ashamed and perceives this divine incident and falls at the chandala's feet.

The population of the planet is about 6,795,000,000. In Gregg Braden's book "The Divine Matrix", Gregg states "the minimum number of people required to jump start a change in consciousness is the square root of 1% of a population." This means only 8,244 people are needed to bring about a shift in awareness… to bring about Peace, Harmony, Unity and Balance on the planet once again. ONLY 8,244 Positive People!

Another Oz Symbolist tour

The "Wizard of Oz", written by L. Frank Baum, is not a mere child's story. What is "Oz" a symbol for? Ounces. What is measured in ounces? Gold. What is the yellow brick road? Bricks or ingot bars of gold. The character known as the Straw Man represents that fictitious, ALL CAPS, legal fiction - a PERSON, the Federal U.S. Government created with the same spelling as your birth name. Remember what the Straw Man wanted from the Wizard of Oz? A Brain! No juristic person - legal fiction - paper corporation has a brain because he/she has no breath of life. What did he get in place of a brain? A certificate: a Birth Certificate for a new legal creation. He was proud of his new legal status, plus all the other legalisms he was granted. Now he becomes the epitome of the brainless sack of straw who was given a certificate in place of a grain of common sense.
Now, what about the Tin Man? Does Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) recall anything to mind? The poor TIN Man just stood there mindlessly doing his work until his body literally froze up and stopped functioning. He worked himself to death because he had neither heart nor soul. He's the heartless and emotionless creature robotically carrying out his daily task as though he were already dead. He's the ox pulling the plow and the mule toiling under the yoke. These days, his task masters just oil him nightly with beer and place him in front of a hypnotic television until his very existence no longer has any meaning or value. His masters keep him cold on the outside and heartless on the inside in order to control any emotion or feeling that might arise.

The Cowardly Lion was always too frightened to stand up for himself. Of course, he was a bully and a big mouth when it came to picking on those smaller than he. (Have you ever noticed how bullies are really the biggest cowards? They act as though they have great courage, but, in reality, have none at all. They roar, but with no teeth of authority to back them up.) When push came to shove, the Cowardly Lion always buckled under and whimpered when anyone of any size or stature challenged him. He wanted courage from the Grand Wizard, so he was awarded a medal of "official" recognition. Now, although remaining a coward, his official status allowed him to be a bully, but with officially recognized authority. (He's not unlike the Attorneys who hide behind the Middle Courts of the Temple Bar.) et al ad infinitum. What about the trip through the field of poppies? Did you notice how this had no narcotic effect on the Straw Man (no brain) or the Tin Man (no heart or soul)? They weren't real people, so drugs could not influence them. The Wizard of Oz was written at the turn of the century, so how could the author have known America was going to be drugged? The Crown has been playing the drug cartel game for centuries. Just look up the history of Hong Kong and the Opium Wars. The Crown already had valuable experience conquering all of China with drugs, so why not the rest of the world? What was the Emerald City? The Federal Reserve System.

Who finally exposed the Wizard for what he really was? Toto, the ugly (or cute, depending on your perspective) and somewhat annoying little dog. Toto means "in total, all together; Latin in toto." What was it that the witch wanted after she alleged that the little dog had bitten her? TOTO. ..everything. Notice how Toto was not scared of the Great Wizard's theatrics, yet he was so small in size, compared to the Wizard, that no one seemed to notice him? The smoke, flames and holographic images of Oz were designed to frighten people into doing as the Great Wizard commanded. Toto simply padded over, looked behind the curtain (the COURT, etc.), saw it was a scam, started barking until others paid attention to him and came to see what all the barking was about. Who was behind the curtain? Just an ORDINARY PERSON controlling the levers that created the illusion of the Great Wizard's power and authority. When Toto pulled back the curtain and completely exposed him, the charade was at an end. (The veil hiding the corporate legal fiction and its false courts was removed.) The Wizard's game was UP. What was he after all? ... a con-man. A FRAUD.

We can see, in this tale, just how loud the bark from a little dog can be. How about YOUR bark? How big is it? Most of us remain silent and wait to be given whatever food and recognition, if any, by our legal master. Let us not forget those pesky flying monkeys. What perfect mythical creatures to represent the Bar Association Attorneys who attack and control the little people for the Great Crown Wizard, the powerful and grand Bankers of Oz: GOLD! How, finally, was the evil witch destroyed?... pure, clean water - LIQUIDATION! How, at last, did Dorothy get home? She simply clicked her heels. She always had the power, and SO DO WE! What would it take to expose the Wizard for what he is, tearing away his veils? We each need only a brain, a heart and soul --- and COURAGE. Then, and perhaps of the greatest importance, we need to learn HOW to WORK TOGETHER. Only "in TOTO," WORKING TOGETHER as ONE Body of the King of Kings, (whatever name or form that may take for each of us), can we have the FREEDOM.

What is needed is a Radical Openness to New Ideas of all sorts

"Business as usual is no longer an option. There is no middle way. There is no Ozzie and Harriet third millenium scenario. The choices are either a hideous, nightmarish world, a Soylent Green kind of world. A world where people of privilege defend that privilege with tremendous establishments of armament and propaganda and the rest of the world slips into poverty, starvation, desparation and death.

This is the kind of world that rationalists fear, and it's also the only kind of world they can imagine because they are bankrupt of inspiration and ideas. So the entire effort of the Establishment has become one of holding down panic, keeping the ball in play, keeping ordinary people and ordinary populations quiescent through drugs which are not psychedelic, through forms of media which are not transcendental and inspiring, but which are narcoleptic and deadening.

This is the fiction that we live in. This is why our situation feels so schizophrenic. Of course as we go through this presidential election the contradictions are heightened almost to the point off nausea because what is under discussion is what manner of fine-tuning shall be applied to the social machinery in order to make it possible to hold together the illusion of business as usual - and the answer is there is no such fine-tuning, it's all finished. Instead what is needed is a radical openness to new ideas of all sorts." Terence McKenna

Acupressure

Acupressure is useful in alleviating many of the physical symptoms as well as the sluggishness of mild depression. Acupressure is performed by applying steady, firm pressure on specific points along the body. If you prefer, you can rub on the acupressure point briskly to stimulate them rather than just applying pressure. When stimulated, these spots, which are identical to acupuncture points, correspond to and affect other parts of the body.

According Chinese medicine, depression can occur when you repress certain emotions, such as anger or guilt. Using anti-depression acupressure points can help to release this blocked energy. Once it is free to rise to the surface, you can examine these feelings and try to gain a greater understanding of them.

The following are important acupressure points for relieving depression. You do not have to use all of the points listed below. Using just one or two of them whenever you have a free hand can be effective in controlling your depression.

for instance: Third Eye Point (Yintang}
This point is located between the eyebrows in the groove where the bridge of your nose meets your forehead. Pressing this point soothes your emotions and relieves depression.

Dear President Bush,
Hi President. How are you? Well war kills people and a lot of people have already died. We learn to talk to each other to solve our problems in my second grade class. Can't the presidents of countries do this too? If you believe that we must have war- I was thinking if the people in war could use water guns (those really big ones) it would be better. And who ever gets soaked is out. The other team wins. I'm just thinking and I am still a kid. If you don't like the idea that's fine with me. I will understand. Maybe the presidents could choose teams to help you and you guys could have the water fight. This would save a lot of people from being killed.

5 Floating Utopia and Ocean City Projects: From Seafaring Condos to Oceanic Micronations

The Celestopia Project is a broad-scoped attempt at colonizing the Earth’s oceans one settlement at a time. According to one source, Celestopean Elemental Separators will (apparently) allow them to mine the ocean’s waters for not only “hydrogen and oxygen” but also for “platinum and gold.” Their more moderate homepage suggests they will use Thermal Energy Converters (OTECs) to harvest power from temperature differentials in the ocean. Life on these oceanic colonies will involve age-extending health practices and domed residences that will be resistant to the forces of nature. Each such floating city will be designed to house 5,000 to 10,000 people and these will slowly cover the surfaces of all of the Earth’s oceans.

One ship is of course called "FREEDOM SHIP"... lol seriously...

Multiple Intelligences

The theory of multiple intelligences was developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner, professor of education at Harvard University. It suggests that the traditional notion of intelligence, based on I.Q. testing, is far too limited. Instead, Dr. Gardner proposes eight different intelligences to account for a broader range of human potential in children and adults. These intelligences are:
Linguistic intelligence ("word smart"):
Logical-mathematical intelligence ("number/reasoning smart")
Spatial intelligence ("picture smart")
Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence ("body smart")
Musical intelligence ("music smart")
Interpersonal intelligence ("people smart")
Intrapersonal intelligence ("self smart")
Naturalist intelligence ("nature smart")

"When a new philosophy is presented to the world it is met in different ways by different people. One person will grasp with avidity any new philosophical effort in an endeavor to ascertain how far it supports his own ideas. To such a one the philosophy itself is of minor importance. Its prime value will be its vindication of his ideas. If the work comes up to expectation in that respect, he will enthusiastically adopt it and cling to it with a most unreasoning partisanship; if not, he will probably lay the book down in disgust and disappointment, feeling as if the author had done him an injury.

Another adopts an attitude of skepticism as soon as he discovers that it contains something which he has not previously read, heard, or originated in his own thought. He would probably resent as extremely unjustified the accusation that his mental attitude is the acme of self-satisfaction and intolerance; such is nevertheless the case; and thus he shuts his mind to any truth which may possibly be hidden in that which he off-hand rejects.

Both these classes stand in their own light.
'Set' ideas render them impervious to rays of truth.

'A little child' is the very opposite of its elders in that respect. It is not imbued with an overwhelming sense of superior knowledge, nor does it feel compelled to look wise or to hide its nescience of any subject by a smile or a sneer. It is frankly ignorant, unfettered by preconceived opinions and therefore eminently teachable. It takes everything with that beautiful attitude of trust which we have designated 'child-like faith,' wherein there is not the shadow of a doubt.
There the child holds the teaching it receives until proven or disproven."
