Earth 1947, Little Green Men & a Shapeshifter

Three Ferengi, called Martians first by the humans, and Odo the Founder and Shapeshifter stumble on 1947 Earth due to an accident in the Star Trek DS9 episode 4x08 Little Green Men. Which has not one, but two Weather Balloon jokes!

Ferengi are like the Orange Strivedrivers of Spiral Dynamics, from the wiki: They and their culture are characterized by a mercantile obsession with profit and trade and their constant efforts to swindle people into bad deals. They are also known for their business acumen and for exploiting females. Like most of their culture, their religion is also based on the principles of capitalism: they offer prayers and monetary offerings to a "Blessed Exchequer" in hopes of entering the "Divine Treasury" upon death, and fear an afterlife spent in the "Vault of Eternal Destitution".

Full episode summary here: They awaken in a laboratory. A human male in the next room exhales cigarette smoke, and calmly summons a General Denning on a telephone. "Tell him one of the Martians is awake," he says. The calendar reads July, 1947.

the humans mimic Quark's movements
"I'd always heard primitive hew-mons lacked intelligence,
but I never thought they were this stupid.

As Rom and Nog awaken, they argue with Quark about what happened, and whether they died in the crash and this is the afterlife. In the next room, several humans have gathered to observe the behavior of the Martians. They activate the speaker and hear a bizarre, otherworldly language being spoken by the aliens. Quark is annoyed he cannot understand what the humans are saying, and surmises their universal translators are malfunctioning. Rom thinks it may be due to nuclear fission radiation in the atmosphere.
When Nog agrees, pointing out that twentieth-century humans actually made weapons that utilized nuclear fission and detonated them on the planet's surface, Quark is horrified. He becomes progressively more disgusted when he notes that the humans all seem to have a habit of inhaling the smoke of a burning tobacco plant, a behavior he finds almost as vile as imbibing root beer. He insists they get off the planet as soon as possible to get away from these "savages."

"If they'll buy poison, they'll buy anything!" Quark

First Ferengi contact!

Nog tries to fool Wainwright into thinking the Ferengi are going to invade Earth, which doesn't work...
Nog: "The first landing parties will arrive here."
Wainwright: "Where?" (on the map)
Nog: "Here, right by this blue blob."
Wainwright: "You mean your people are going to invade... Cleveland?"

But guess who came along for the ride, Founder and Shapeshifter Odo transforms from a sirius Dog(star) of the German Shepherd kind:

Looks kinda lizzy
When Rom hears that there will be a nuclear test in the desert, he comes up with an idea. They fly the ship directly into the blast and jettison the remaining kemocite, which reacts with the bomb to throw them ahead in time to where they started. Back on the base, General Denning thoughtfully chews his cigar and muses on the "crashed weather balloon" they found in nearby Roswell, New Mexico.

Bill Killed: David Carradine found hung in Thailand

David Carradine at age 72 apparently hung himself in Thailand, autoerotic asphyxiation is also suspected. Another possibility is suicided, possibleas Carradine comes from a family of actors along with the hanged-man archetype returning with a celebrity death (see Heath Ledger of course), maybe more will bubble up later in the synchrosphere. He had spoken of suicide before his death though.

I liked this quote:
"I'm not afraid of anything. Why would you be afraid of death? It would be an inconvenience. I have a lot of undone things and it's bound to get in the way. But, no, it doesn't scare me at all."

Double Jeopardy: It all started on the MORNING STAR

This movie just started on tv, and grabbed my conspiracy reality tunnel's attention for a while. Sorry short post with some random pickings, I saw this terrible movie before and don't wanna go through that again. But man this makes me wonder how much we'd see if we really start paying attention and know what to look for.

Plot: A woman framed for her husband's murder suspects he is still alive; as she has already been tried for the crime, she can't be re-prosecuted if she finds and kills him.

Opening lines, mother Libby (jack) PARSONS to child, fishing on the shore, son's lines start with a -, interpret it as 'them' talking to us:
I'm hungry I hope we catch something (with this movie)
Hey help me pull, turn this slowly, slowly! (we help 'them', slowly)
-I am doing it slowly...
Oh matty look
you see that
you see that big boat out there (and a one)
she is the prettiest boat on whidbey island (and a two)
that's the MORNING STAR (hellooo, Lucifer)
someday when yo'ure big enough we're gonna teach you how to sail, it's the best thing there is sailing
-better than fishing?
yeah but you know what kiddo, I don't think I want you to grow up (heh)
-why (easier to control)
what if you grow up and marry some beautiful girl who's gonna go sailing with me then?
not a chance.

The Coast Guard boat approaches Morning Star:
Morning Star! This is the coast guard put the knife down now and step away!
-I don't know, I don't know... where my husband is!

the 911 call from the husband:
Mayday, mayday, this is Morning Star.
-State your emergency. -I've been stabbed.
I'm bleeding. Jesus... My name is Nicholas Parsons.
-State your position? -I don't know.
Three miles northwest of Whidbey Island, I guess.
Oh, God!

In court:
Mrs. Parsons, you've heard the testimony presented to this court, -
-and your explanation is that someone must have climbed aboard the Morning Star.
That's right.
Well, let's consider all the possibilities.
Maybe a band of pirates. Or aliens. Did aliens murder your husband?
No, aliens weren't beneficiaries in your husband's life insurance policy.

Also interesting from a dvd review site:
"Sporadic negative dirt (during second unit photography, such as establishing shots of a cursed boat, The Morning Star) hardly downgrades my opinion of the image, which is letterboxed at 2.35:1."

Can You Feel IT?

Thanks to Alienpunk for the heads up on the crazy symbolism in this vid

The Jacksons - Can You Feel It

The video starts with some of their prime directives
In the beginning the land was pure
Even in the early morning light
You could see the beauty in the thorns of nature
Soon men and women of every color and shape would be here too
And they would find it all too easy sometimes not to see the colors
And to ignore the beauty in each other
But they would never lose sight of the dream of A better world that
They could unite and build together in triumph

More of the lyrics which are supposedly Jehova Witness (freemasonic creation)
inspired as MJ was one then. The song was also used by psycho-illusionist Derren Brown in 2006, Derren Brown used the song along with various other psychological motivators to convince a group of 4 people to each commit a bank robbery by their own free will.
The symbolism of the video speaks for itself:

5 eye pyramids in a row:
illuminati all seeing-eye pyramid the jacksons
freemasonic freemasons all seeing-eye pyramid the jacksons

Through the Stargate:

Pyramid and Rainbow:
And the humans in trance just how they like us
Later MJ included this in his lyrics, and the 2 "They don't care about us" videos are pretty good as well. What happened after that were probably the consequences...

A Process of healing: Mindfulness style

Regina Stribling: Mindfulness has helped me time and again to be present and calm in my life during times of strife. These mindfulness awareness steps are adapted from my own experience with Buddhist psychology. Each phase is a phase of transformation and a phase of acceptance. A balance occurs through these phases by simply paying attention to what is occurring in the present moment. Jack Kornfield, a renowned Buddhist Psychologist, advocates for mindfulness through the integration of focus and investigation with concentration and tranquility in his dharma talk The Seven Factors of Enlightenment.

1. (Focus and Investigation) Recognizing the emotional/mental state or behavior: When an emotion or ruminating thoughts occur, the first step is becoming aware of what is occurring. Instead of following the scent of drama welled up in the emotions or thoughts, stop for a moment. What is actually happening right now? For example saying to myself, “I am feeling depressed about not being with him.” Is that the most honest answer? Is depression what I feel or is it a deep sense of loss? Truly asking myself, “What is this state I am feeling right now?” Then simply name the emotion or thought. For example: sadness, anger, thought about him/her.

2. (Concentration) Tending to the emotion/behavior through helpful tools: Helpful tools are those core positive coping mechanisms that assist in bringing peace to the mind and body. For example: mindful breathing, journalling, yoga, painting, biking etc. Most of our moments are filled with the not so positive tools of coping with life such as eating a carton of ice cream, driving recklessly through the mountains, or drinking a lot of wine. I chose rather unique examples because we each have our own ways of coping that are unique to the individual. We all know what is best for us and yet we continue to chose the seemingly “easier” option. Even so, this step is about honest concentration.

Only you know the positive coping mechanisms that support you in your life. If you don’t, ask someone who might know and can give you a hint.

3. (Awareness) Listening, paying attention, and being present with the emotion/behavior exactly as it is-honestly in a non-judgmental way: Upon finding the root to the emotion, I listen and pay attention to my sensations in my body. I may say to myself “Okay, I am really sad right now. I feel really low about him leaving. My hands are shaking and my heart hurts.” Really being aware of what is occurring as if I am an eagle soaring above the situation. Then I may say to myself, “It is okay to be sad right now.”

Once being present with the emotion occurs, then a space opens inside of us to recognize that the state or situation will not last. Saying to myself, an ancient Jewish line of wisdom, “This too shall pass.”

4. (Tranquility through Expression) Letting go/Releasing the emotion and eventually the situation: Releasing occurs in different ways. One way is being able to smile and laugh at the drama of the situation. Another is through crying, walking out the anger, or swinging on a swing. Ultimately the best way to release and let go of a pending emotion and situation is forgiveness. Yes, even Buddhists rely on forgiveness. Forgiveness in the form of self-forgiveness and also forgiving the other person/people involved. We all are only human and are doing the best we can in any given situation with what we have been given ourselves. Soygal Rinpoche (The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, HarperCollins Publications) writes about forgiveness as “Your feeling of being unforgiven and unforgivable is what makes you suffer so. But it only exists in your heart or mind.”

One aspect of feeling an emotion is that sometimes we indulge and sob excessively or punch walls to allow catharsis to happen. Yet simply allowing the emotion to be as it is without indulging allows for a greater sense of peace to eventually enter.

5. Positive Reframe: Bringing in balance by allowing space to exist: This last step is extremely helpful. Once going through the previous steps, you can then reframe the situation in a positive light. For example, seeing the loss of a boyfriend/girlfriend as an opportunity. Yes an opportunity for another situation perhaps an even better situation to occur. By honestly experiencing a challenging emotion/behavior/situation as an opportunity, you are more capable of letting go and accepting your life as it is, fully in the present moment. In doing so, the fire and storm around the situation lessens. The grip on your part in the drama becomes more loose which allows space to enter. When space enters, there is now room for peace to enter into a situation previously thought of as detrimental, hysterical, or never ending. The reframe may not happen right away, however, keeping the reframe in mind is a helpful beginning.

Robert Anton Wilson - TSOG Maybe

Robert Anton Wilson - TSOG Maybe

From the vid info: Perhaps instead of thinking of things changing, it may be more accurate to think of change as 'thinging'. Change 'thinging' in a process-oriented universe. The universe we are living in today is not the same universe we were living in yesterday. Scenario Universe consists of non-simultaneously apprehended events. I seem to be a verb. I have never met a noun.

Essence of Evolution

Essence of Evolution

"Evolution is, without doubt, the most profound idea ever imagined by the human mind. Even more astounding is the amount of evidence grounding it in reality. Genetic analysis and the fossil record are incontrovertible: all life on earth shares a common origin. What began as a single cell in the shallow seas of an archaic earth has since transformed over several billion years into the complex variety of species currently calling this planet home. But evolution is an idea whose implications extend far beyond the surface of earth: to truly begin to grasp its significance, we must view evolution in its cosmic context. Our universe is itself a 13.7 billion year process of creative emergence, from sub-atomic particles, to hydrogen, to stars and galaxies, and eventually to solar systems like ours with rocky planets suitable for life. So not only all living beings on earth, but all matter in this universe shares a single point of origin in a moment of unimaginable creativity known as the 'big bang.' Ours is more a cosmogenesis than a static cosmos. The tired conflict between science and religion must come to an end with both sides standing in awe of the evolutionary process of creation we human beings have woken up amidst. The most pressing question now becomes: 'how can we participate?'"

Do they still make action movies that don't involve the paranormal? ;) [btw, remember labels in this and any post are just probable] The Lead actor in this has the facial expression range of Seagal and the movie was kinda disturbingly pushing very young Dakota Fanning's legs.
Who I saw last week in a bit of the terrible Spielberg's War of the Worlds again, geez she's annoying in that one. Tom Cruise-Control can drive anywhere through Alien-attacked New York and an area where a few planes crashed :p and while they flee NY both kids together ask the following just a little too much "IS IT THE TERRORISTS?" "WHAT IS IT? IS IT TERRORISTS?"

The Future of Psychedelics - an Interview with Alexander T. "Sasha" Shulgin

The Future of Psychedelics - an Interview with Alexander T. "Sasha" Shulgin by Dee
"...Sasha claims to be inspired partly by the history of Wilhelm Reich and considers Castanada to be his model and hero, not only seeing psychedelics as a potential enrichment to everyday life, but also as a means to increasing personal insight and expansion of one's mental and emotional horizons.

Psychedelics may be best defined as physically non-addictive compounds which temporarily alter the state of one's consciousness. Sasha believes that the use of psychedelic drugs, including the minor risks involved (an occasional difficult experience or perhaps some body malaise) are more than balanced by the potential for learning. He has a strong preference for psychedelics over heroin or cocaine (especially crack), both of which he has tried, because he feels both tend to allow the user to escape from who he or she really is, even to the point, from who you are not. Heroin, in particular, he feels, creates a loss of motivation and alertness and under its influence, nothing seems important to him. Cocaine, on the other hand stimulates a sense of power, but also the inescapable knowledge that it is not true power.

There is a healthy dose of humour in Sasha's writings and I was looking forward to talking with him about the future of psychedelics and the likely highs for the 21st C."

Sam: Is she smoking by the propane tanks? ... BOOM
"I was surrounded by the heavenly warmth of a hundred fairies, message received, that's my last cigaret ever!"

"Do I look like a fairy to you? Whoa, don't answer that!" (Character is gay ;p)
The fairy/angel breaks Sam's hand in six places which makes him lose his contest (arranged with an incantation translated from an ancient demon language) with the Devil, and which makes them lose Andy's soul too, but the orders came from higher up in heaven and Sam, the son of the Devil, is assured that Heaven is looking out for him, with a free lightshow to make it up... Belgian in Space!

The Soyuz TMA-15 launched today with Soyuz commander Roman Romanenko, European Space Agency astronaut Frank De Winne of Belgium (Belgium's second man in space after Dirk Frimout). and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Robert Thirsk. All five space agencies building the International Space Station will be represented by full-time crew members for the first time. Interestingly, this evening's tagline on the news was "Lots of ritual before the launch." including an orthodox priest splashing De Winne's face with holy water... part of a fixed ritual the Russians always perform before a launch.

Douglas Rushkoff: Life Inc.

Douglas Rushkoff: Life Inc.

How the world became a corporation and how to take it back.

From the site: In Life Inc, Douglas Rushkoff presents the unnerving, unbelievable, but ultimately undeniable proof that our world has been overtaken by an absolutely artificial economy.

He shows how our most fundamental assumptions about money and commerce are actually false ones - artifacts of a 400-year-old plan by a waning aristocracy to maintain control of Western Europe. Although the architects of this corporatism have long since passed on, we still live in a landscape defined by their plans and have internalized their values as our own.

Taking on some of the biggest assumptions of our age, this is a book filled with dangerous ideas and rather unspeakable heresies:
  • Money is not a part of nature, to be studied by a science like economics, but an invention with a specific purpose.
  • Centralized currency is just one kind of money - one not intended to promote transactions but to promote the accumulation of capital by the wealthy.
  • Banking is our society’s biggest industry, and debt is our biggest product.
  • Corporations were never intended to promote commerce, but to prevent it.
  • The development of chartered corporations and centralized currency caused the plague; the economic devastation ended Europe’s most prosperous centuries, and led to the deaths of half of its population.
  • The more money we make, the more debt we have actually created.
Most importantly, Rushkoff shows how this moment of financial crisis is actually an opportunity to reinstate commerce and communities based in creating value for one another, rather than continuing to extract it for the benefit of institutions that no longer exist.

Nik Kershaw - The Riddle

More music, something entirely different. From the wiki: The "riddling" lyrics caused much puzzlement and speculation among listeners as to their meaning, which was further fuelled by record company MCA's decision to run a competition to work out the meaning - without either telling Nik or even bothering to ask him what the meaning was. Had they done so, they would have discovered that there is in fact no meaning at all - the lyrics were nothing but gibberish thrown together to fit the music, or in Nik's own words: "nonsense, rubbish, bollocks, the confused ramblings of an 80s popstar".

Hmmm, well here are some highlights from the rather esoteric video: Infinite stairways, spirals, breaking through walls, looking glass, 1.22: scullery skull (& bones society), pyramid metronome, sun box. Door knobs on wall. rodents eating 'eyes' in box? Rodents on the mind. waterdoor stargate, dartboard stargate, burning history books (after touching the waterdoor with gloved hand, hmm!). Fried egg mind, riddler shot (remember from Batman Forever movie Jim Carrey's Riddler: "Does anybody else feel like a fried egg?!") 2.01: Painted stairway with sun. Eye mirror, Tweedledum and Tweedledee with puzzle piece, checkered floor pattern and painted on the wall to seem continuing, twin chandeliers, arched windows, distorted mirror, painted doors, etc!

I got two strong arms,
blessings of Babylon
time, to carry on and try

so to American the brave
wise man save.

Near a tree by a river there's a hole in the ground. (stargate?:p)
Where an old man of Aran goes around and around.
And his mind is a beacon in the veil of the night.
For a strange kind of fashion there's a wrong and a right

But he'll never never fight over you.

I got plans for us
nights in the scullery

(1.22: skull (& bones society), pyramid metronome, sun box)
and days, instead of me I only
know what to discuss
Oh, for anything but light
Wise men fighting over you

It's not me you see,
pieces of valentine
and just, a song of mine to keep
from burning history
seasons of gasoline and gold
Wise men fold.

Near a tree by a river there's a hole in the ground
Where an old man of Aran goes around and around.
And his mind is a beacon in the veil of the night.
For a strange kind of fashion there's a wrong and a right

But he'll never never fight over you.

I got time to kill, sly looks in corridors without
a plan of yours a blackbird sings on bluebird hill.
Thanks to the calling of the wild
wise mens child.

Near a tree by a river there's a hole in the ground
Where an old man of Aran goes around and around.
And his mind is a beacon in the veil of the night.

Heaven and Hell

"Heaven is here -- you just have to know how to live it. And hell too is here, and you know perfectly well how to live it. It is only a question of changing your perspective, your approach towards life. The earth is beautiful. If you start living its beauty, enjoying its joys you are in paradise. If you condemn everything, then the same earth turns into a hell -- only for you. It depends on you where you live, it is a question of your own inner transformation. It is not a change of place, it is a change of inner space. Live joyously, guiltlessly, live totally. And then heaven is no more a metaphysical concept, it is your own experience." Osho

Graham Hancock - Supernatural

Graham Hancock - Supernatural

Researcher and author Graham Hancock discussed how humanity received a jump start some 40,000 years ago, when our ancestors took psychoactive plants and had contacts with non-terrestrial beings who served as teachers. Their visions and encounters were depicted on cave paintings, he said. The Amazonian hallucinogenic brew known as ayahuasca is being used today, and its active ingredient DMT, is naturally made in the human pineal gland. People who have spontaneous visions may produce higher levels of this chemical in their bodies, he noted. In Dr. Rick Strassman's experimental studies of DMT, users reported experiences similar to alien abduction scenarios, Hancock reported. In fact, aliens, fairies, and spirit beings may all be the same thing, just construed differently based on cultural frameworks, Hancock suggested. He argued that hallucinogens such as ayahuasca should be made legal, as they help to advance the freedom of consciousness. Hancock touched on some of his other areas of research, detailing how a lost civilization predating the Egyptians, created the megalithic structures on the Giza Plateau. This civilization was destroyed in a global cataclysm-- something that we may face in our own time as part of a recurring cycle of destruction, he warned. The ancient Mayans created a calendar that is strikingly accurate, more so than the Gregorian one we use today, he added.

GI Joe Resolute, an 11 part animation written by Warren Ellis. Featuring HAARP, huge spiral shaped particle weapons, eye in triangle tank barrels, etc.

The writer Warren Ellis was unfamiliar with the franchise and notes that:
"It went like this. Sam Register phoned me up and said, we’d really like you to write a GI JOE animation, at a PG-13 rating, aimed at an older viewer. I said, I’ve never seen a GI JOE cartoon in my life. The closest I got to a GI JOE comic was drinking with Larry Hama. I’ve never even seen a GI JOE. Couldn’t tell you what they look like if you paid me. I know nothing about GI JOE. It is meaningless in my world. Excellent, Sam said. Just the guy we need. It was hard not to notice, at this point, that Sam Register is crazier than a shithouse rat. Therefore I decided to take the job."
