Justice League: The New Frontier

"Like all things on this earthly sphere, I emerged from a molten center of creation. But mine has been a unique path.
Isolated, I developed attributes beyond those of lesser beings (always cthulhu)
Then the sphere was struck by a vast celestial stone. Black chunks of death filled the skies, and the world became a chaotic garden of doom
Soon the sphere began to nurture new forms of life
And there was one that stood above all the rest
It's fragile shell belied it's vicious nature
and it what seemed like a heartbeat, these things proliferated in both number, and destructive means.
Now they have harnassed the most destructive (nuclear) force, and I, THE CENTRE have concluded the sphere must be cleansed of them."
And then the narrator shoots himself. (must have channeled that or something)Spaceship down the Spiral Stargate during opening credits
Anti-Communist propaganda.
Martian Manhunter, can shapeshift.
Into the Pookah for instance!
"You are the tribute, yours is the glory of nourishing the strength of the Centre."
Don't worry, Batman saves the day.
Carol is helping Hal to get into space
Hal Jordan: A hole in the ground. Isn't that the wrong direction?
Carol Ferris: Sometimes you have to go through hell to get to heaven.
"I was on my way here to help. In the coming battle with the Centre. It is a monstrous creature that fears you humans so much, it intends to eradicate every living soul on the planet." dying Green Lantern
The Centre is a primordial monster rock entity thing! Loudly resonating the Galactic Center (from Jake Kotze). "All of you remember today, there are no Democrats, no Republicans, no hawks, no doves. Just the naked simplicity of an absolute: Mankind's survival. Good luck to us all." King Faraday
They have to go to the center of the Centre to destroy it and it gets kinda extradimensional and stargatey for a while. But the good guys win, wouldn't ya know it and the movie ends with an edited JFK's new frontier speech:
"The pioneers of old gave up their safety, their comfort and sometimes their lives to build our new West. They were determined to make the new world strong and free, an example to the world. Some would say that those struggles are all over--that all the horizons have been explored--that all the battles have been won-- that there is no longer an American frontier. And we stand today on the edge of a New Frontier--a frontier of unknown opportunities and perils. Beyond that frontier are the uncharted areas of science and space, unsolved problems of peace and war, unconquered pockets of ignorance and prejudice.
I am asking each of you to be pioneers on that New Frontier. My call is to the young in heart, regardless of age. We carry through in an age where we will witness not only new breakthroughs in weapons of destruction--but also a race for mastery of the sky and the rain, the ocean and the tides, the far side of space and the inside of men's minds. All mankind waits upon our decision. A whole world looks to see what we will do. We cannot fail their trust, we cannot fail to try."

I love that movie. Better than the comic, IMO. I couldn't make heads or tails of the story in the comic.

That screenshot of the dude in the robe holding a knife up to a child disturbs me deeply. No sir, I don't like it.

Pookah reference lol...

Please direct complaints to WB about child sacrifice, cause the screenshot itself is pretty decent ;)

Child sacrifice and genocide in kids cartoons, welcome to Planet Earth!

"welcome to planet earth" Not that that makes it right or anything... I wasn't "complaining", just making an observation. Part of what makes life suck is how people think something horrible such as child sacrifice is just "part of the package" of existence. Makes me sick.

The screenshot is "decent" because it proves what some people are into

tis cool man, I meant decent technically ;) just trying to keep it lighthearted in spite of everything. Peace!
