I actually live near Brave New Books in Austin. I need to start checking their schedule more often.
I'm still not sure I agree with the idea that everything bad in the world is simply an extension of your own bad ideas and repressed thoughts. I mean, it sounds good, it sounds "true enough", but is it true in actuality? I just don't know. The seed is planted.
He spends a good portion of the lecture talking about toxic chemicals in our food and how their wavelengths limit our cognitive abilities and such. I haven't yet jumped on that bandwagon as the evidence isn't all that convincing to me.
But overall I really liked it. There were a lot of concepts he was only able to give brief attention to due to time limitations. I really think he should offer a weekend long workshop so we don't have to read his books. 8)
I think toxicity limits us in some way. There was a news piece in Belgium a while ago, that a vegan family that only ate very healthy was still not optimally healthy either because of the plastic surrounding some of their foods crept into it. F'd up. It's a piece of the puzzle never to be confused with the entire puzzle, I notice when I eat more healthy that I feel a lot more healthy and conscious, I can't touch junk food anymore, my body rejects it. I might try his detox thingy, but I'm gonna investigate more before I buy his sales pitch.
I liked it too overall. Good news: He does have a 2 day workshop or so he mentioned I thought!
