John Lilly's Simulations of God - Science of Belief excerpt 2 God as War

Earlier excerpt and book download link.

Excerpt 2 from John Lilly's Simulations of God - Science of Belief. In this one John Lilly's stretches our associations of war.

GOD AS WAR
In the old-fashioned sense, God as War, War as an instrument of God as is recounted in the Bible, war between small villages in the Middle East, is not to be compared with modern warfare simultaneously involving several hundreds of millions of people. The old Gods of War are too small for modern human society. The Jewish God is too small. Baal and Maloch are too small. Ra is too small. Kali is too small. And the philosophies of all these ancient Gods and all the other ancient Gods, such as Huitzilopochtli and Tezcatlipoca of the Aztecs, are too small.

...If either the Spaniards of the Aztecs had had atomic energy at their disposal, the planet would probably have become sterilized. We no longer can afford God as War. We now have God-like instruments of destruction. Our God must be greater than a protagonist in human battle.
The basic assumption that "We are right and they are wrong" also must be treated as a delusion. As a substitute for violence we must negotiate; we must bring disparate belief systems into congruence through communication, not through violence. The language barriers of the world must not only be crossed but toppled. The belief barriers of the world must be diminished to the point of triviality. All modern technology must be used to increase the knowledge of all peoples throughout the planet. National security boundaries must be abolished bilaterally. Self-righteous virtue and concerted anger must be denied to those in power. Profit through war must be abolished.

It may be that all the above reasoning is idealistic and totally wrong. It may be that war on our planet is the result of orders sent to the human species from other superior civilizations hundreds, thousands, or millions of years in advance of ours. War may be a laboratory for the development of weapons to be used elsewhere. War may be the supreme form of human achievement. It may be that our short-term view of the destruction of human bodies, of human vehicles, one by the other, is a technique for freeing up essences needed elsewhere in our galaxy or the unvierse. If we want to continue with God as War, some such belief systems as this must be carefully taught to al peoples on Earth. There are various methods for such teaching. For example, we can declare that it is necessary for the Americans and Chiense to carry on their military research and their testing of new material in real wars in order to develop super-weapons which will eventually could be used against extraterrestrial invaders.
Further alternatives are that the screams of the dying, the pain, the terror, the panic of war, all telepathically broadcast throughout our galaxy, may be needed as energy - as food or as fuel - somewhere else in the galaxy.

It may be that Earth is merely a small portion of some other beings' laboratory in which they are testing out various ways of exciting various kinds of organisms to high energy states. It may be that the supervisors of this laboratory must every so often dump some sort of destructive antibiotic activity on us, the bacteria, to keep our numbers in control. It may be that they finally have furnished us with the formulae for our own antibiotics. We, as the bacteria in the laboratory they have set up on this planet, are merely living out their instructions. These instructions involve observing how organisms with our size brain can kill one another most efficiently. These superextraterrestrial beings furnish us with ideas of God, of the devil, of prophets, of power, of inflated egos, of megalomanic belief systems in order to play games in their laboratory.

Or it may be that we are just simulation computers at the behest of very much larger computers who are in control of us, and that we are simulating a war they are waging among themselves; or that they have agreed to take sides on this planet, some controlling one side and others controlling the other side. These lesser gods of cosmic war games are undetectable to us because we have post-hypnotic trance orders to forget the fact that we are under their orders. Our simulation does not include the simulation of Them. Our orders say: "Accept the orders that we give you in sleep. When you are awake do what we have dictated and forget that we gave you these orders in sleep."

Paranoia has two components. We forget that paranoia includes a megalomanic center-of-the-universe arrogance. This state could easily have been programmed into us by Them. The only additional component needed to start a war would then be fear. Fear is easily excited because it has been built into the biocomptuers as a survival program. Many things - including the natural forces - can be used to excite fear. Start a hurricane or a typhoon and move it in the right direction across the surface of the earth. Or begin a very large earthquake, or excite a solar flare and cause the particles from the flare to hit the earth's atmosphere, thus changing the mood of all the earth's creatures, including man. Or beam secret information into the world's houses of power - that on the opposite side of the world are you enemies, so go there and kill them.

Such projections of responsibility upon the cosmos in the past were called God. Now we must perform an operation almost out of science fiction in order to simulate the same sort of results. Imbedded in us is a righteous wrath of our own fear, our own megalomania, our own arrogance. When we become angry enough to kill - then is the time to stop, to stand off, to find out how much of our program is biologically determined, how much is determined by communication with others through at-present-unknown channels, and how much is determined by our peer group and by the known physical pathways of communication between humans on this planet. The destroy-to-create simulation either must go or must be carried to its full extreme of totally destroying in order to start totally over somewhere else.

A&E Biography - Charles Manson

A&E Biography - Charles Manson part 1 & The rest

Here's a docu with interviews with Manson (much less spectacular now), and the women of the murders (holy crap). Hallucinogenics and brainwashing gets talked about. It's pretty intense and shows a very different story than what Manson was selling in the interview posted yesterday.

Hyatt's Psychopath's Bible

I read this book from start to finish in around 3 hours yesterday, you can download it here.

I liked the approach Hyatt took in the book 'Undoing yourself' and I guess this sync'd with the Manson vids I've been checking. Though I have to say, it's a twisted book in some ways and I'd only recommend it to people who understand the relativity of belief systems well. I wouldn't give this book to anyone unstable and don't really recommend it to anyone.

There is some real twisted shit in this book lol, but sneakily Hyatt is convincing the potential 'psychopath' reader to be a nice helpful empowered person. From a perspective though that in a mad society the only (zen) way to help people is to make them persist in their folly, so they can come to their own realisations when the dynamics shift. Which is way more helpful than telling people what's wrong with their illusions - because they'll prefer the illusions over the truth most of the time anyway.

My own highest ideal is truth, but I've found too that most people do not share that, and instead prefer the comfort (and relative ignorance) of their belief system. To keep kinda sane socially I have elevated 'fun' to as high or even higher as truth in another main reality tunnel, as I used to be a pessimist - you can imagine how different my life is from ten years ago. Adaptation is the key to survival or something ;p. Though I've also come to understand the relativity of truth itself and how fun and harmony is perhaps more 'real' to pursue, and how some 'sleepwalkers' are having way more fun and fulfillment than some 'seekers'. This is why it helps to learn from anyone, anyone can have associations, perspectives, strategies that can be helpful to you.

Hyatt paints a grim view of the world, but if you have many other views already, one can always find some use for more perceptions. Along with the grim view though he suggests a strong (sometimes questionable though) attitude, a kind of high indifference, with associations over lots of life's ills that empower the individual. Some information was really useful though I'm more of the "example" guy that don't give a damn instead of the social manipulator, the relativity of it all (and the cosmic giggle factor :p) has made me extremely laid back and Hyatt tries to create that attitude as well.

Speaking of duality earlier, Hyatt seems to be quite the Luciferian too, which I guess depending on the interpretation can sometimes be seen as the opposite of humanist? :p So to let go of the attachment of the idealism to preserving human life instead of the sacrifice that is supposedly needed for further evolution. This is heavy stuff. Though I can't say I agree with that, it does help to further understand a Luciferian mindset.
Here are some quotes, the book starts out great with different definitions of the psychopath, which basically is 'someone who doesn't follow regular social convention', a type of "Manson zen" can be seen in this book. The first quote about the DSM is on the money:
"If you've never picked up DSM-IV, we strongly refcommend that you do so. You'll find yourself in it. You'll find your friends and associates in it. You'll find your family members in it. Indeed, you'll find everyone in it. In other words, from the point of view of psychiatry, everyone has a "mental disorder." For psychiatry, there is no such thing as mental health, only degrees of pathology."

"The entire process is a food chain which the Master actively supports and utilizes for his comfort and fun. He knows that everything is part of the problem and that there are no solutions from the conventional point of view. He knows that millions die daily and millions are born to take their place, he knows that the planet is alive as a stomach is alive - it digests everything."

"One of the key factors in understanding why people are so pathetic is that, during the infantile stage of development, they "come to constant erroneous conclusions" as to "what causes what."
In other words, they learn erroneous negotiation strategies right from the very beginning and come up with conclusions about themselves, the world, and their interconnections which they continue to use and be victims of until they are buried alive.
The reason they survive at all is because of "slop" (i.e., most people have the same wrong conclusions.)
Building upon wrong conclusions leads to habits which once ingrained, are difficult if not impossible to break. People's minds become calcified. They blindly proceed through their lives, deceiving themselves and repressing the immense spite they have accumulated over all the years for continuously being treated like children."

"All governments (some might assert that I should have said "authoritarian" governments, but this is, in fact, a redundant notion) count on "their" "citizens" to respond in typical infantile fashion. This includes identifying unconsciously with a more powerful force even if this force enslaves, brutalizes and humiliates you. For most people, slavery is freedom.
Thus, democracy is nothing but a ruse to hide the power and force of this technique. Adolph Hitler was an expert in its use. He knew that the German People wanted to be children with a strong magical father to care for them. However, the German people, like any other group of people, would have felt offended if their nose was rubbed in what they had to become in order to get what they believed they wanted.
The chronic process of making - and being made - the child is a technique at which every bureaucrat and government official is adept. This is fundamentally how the police operate. The Master is an expert in this area."

Notice the angel with its masonic checkerboard wings, recognizing duality in order to soar. I found this video helped to understand the 'Luciferian' mindset. We'll be exploring duality even more later today.

Bill Bailey: Magic Round About

Bill Bailey Magic Round About

Daily Conspiracy: Man belongs to the Earth 2

The Earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the Earth. (Part 2) Excerpt from The Illuminatus! Trilogy: 1 The Eye in the Pyramid. By Robert Shea & Robert Anton Wilson

"Property is theft," Hagbard said, passing the peace pipe.

"If the BIA helps those real estate developers take our land," Uncle John Feather said, "that will be theft. But if we keep the land, that is certainly not theft."

Night was falling in the Mohawk reservation, but Hagbard saw Sam Three Arrows nod vigorously in the gloom of the small cabin. He felt, again, that American Indians were the hardest people in the world to understand. His tutors had given him a cosmopolitan education, in every sense of the word, and he usually found no blocks in relating to people of any culture, but the Indians did puzzle him at times. After five years of specializing in handling the legal battles of various tribes against the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the land pirates it served, he was still conscious that these people's heads were someplace he couldn't yet reach. Either they were the simplest, or the most sophisticated, society on the planet; maybe, he thought, they were both, and the ultimate simplicity and the ultimate sophistication are identical.

"Property is liberty," Hagbard said. "I am quoting the same man who said property is theft. He also said property is impossible. I speak from the heart. I wish you to understand why I take this case. I wish you to understand in fullness."

Sam Three Arrows drew on the pipe, then raised his dark eyes to Hagbard's. "You mean that justice is not known like a dog who barks in the night? That it is more like the unexpected sound in the woods that must be identified cautiously after hard thinking?"

There it was again: Hagbard had heard the same concreteness of imagery in the speech of the Shoshone at the opposite end of the continent. He wondered, idly, if Ezra Pound's poetry might have been influenced by habits of speech his father acquired from the Indians—Homer Pound had been the first white man born in Idaho. It certainly went beyond the Chinese. And it came, not from books on rhetoric, but from listening to the heart—the Indian metaphor he had himself used a minute ago.

He took his time about answering: he was beginning to acquire the Indian habit of thinking a long while before speaking.

"Property and justice are water," he said finally. "No man can hold them long. I have spent many years in courtrooms, and I have seen property and justice change when a man speaks, change as the caterpillar changes to the butterfly. Do you understand me? I thought I had victory in my hands, and then the judge spoke and it went away. Like water running through the fingers."

Uncle John Feather nodded. "I understand. You mean we will lose again. We are accustomed to losing. Since George Washington promised us these lands 'as long as the mountain stands and the grass is green,' and then broke his promise and stole part of them back in ten years—in ten years, my friend!—we have lost, always lost

We have one acre left of each hundred promised- to us then."

"We may not lose," Hagbard said. "I promise you, the BIA will at least know they have been in a fight this time. I learn more tricks, and get nastier, each time I go into a courtroom. I am very tricky and very nasty by now. But I am less sure of myself than I was when I took my first case. I no longer understand what I am fighting. I have a word for it—the Snafu Principle, I call it—but I do not understand what it is."

There was another pause. Hagbard heard the lid on the garbage can in back of the cabin rattling: that was the raccoon that Uncle John Feather called Old Grandfather come to steal his evening dinner. Property was theft, certainly, in Old Grandfather's world, Hagbard thought.

"I am also puzzled," Sam Three Arrows said finally. "I worked, long ago, in New York City, in construction, like many young men of the Mohawk Nation. I found that whites were often like us, and I could not hate them one at a time. But they do not know the earth or love it. They do not speak from the heart, usually. They do not act from the heart. They are more like the actors on the movie screen. They play roles. And their leaders are not like our leaders. They are not chosen for virtue, but for their skill at playing roles. Whites have told me this, in plain words. They do not trust their leaders, and yet they follow them. When we do not trust a leader, he is finished. Then, also, the leaders of the whites have too much power. It is bad for a man to be obeyed too often. But the worst thing is what I have said about the heart. Their leaders have lost it and they have lost mercy. They speak from somewhere else. They act from somewhere else. But from where? Like you, I do not know. It is, I think, a kind of insanity." He looked at Hagbard and added politely. "Some are different."

It was a long speech for him, and it stirred something in Uncle John Feather. "I was in the army," he said. "We went to fight a bad white man, or so the whites told us. We had meetings that were called orientation and education. There were films. It was to show us how this bad white man was doing terrible things in his country. Everybody was angry after the films, and eager to fight. Except me. I was only there because the army paid more than an Indian can earn anywhere else. So I was not angry, but puzzled. There was nothing that this white leader did that the white leaders in this country do not also do. They told us about a place named Lidice. It was much like Wounded Knee. They told us of families moved thousands of miles to be destroyed. It was much like the Trail of Tears. They told us of how this man ruled his nation, so that none dared disobey him. It was much like the way white men work in corporations in New York City, as Sam has described it to me. I asked another soldier about this, a black white man. He was easier to talk to than the regular white man. I asked him what he thought of the orientation and education. He said it was shit, and he spoke from the heart! I thought about it a long time, and I knew he was right. The orientation and education was shit. When the men from the BIA come here to talk, it is the same. Shit. But let me tell you this: the Mohawk Nation is losing its soul. Soul is not like breath or blood or bone and it can be taken in ways no man understands. My grandfather had more soul than I have, and the young men have less than me. But I have enough soul to talk to Old Grandfather, who is a raccoon now. He thinks as a raccoon and he is worried about the raccoon nation, more than I am worried about the Mohawk Nation. He thinks the raccoon nation will die soon, and all the nations of the free and wild animals. That is a terrible thing and it frightens me. When the nations of the animals die, the earth will also die. That is an old teaching and I cannot doubt it. I see it happening, already. If they steal more of our land to build that dam, more of our soul will die, and more of the souls of the animals will die! The earth will die, and the stars will no longer shine! The Great Mother herself may die!" The old man was crying unashamedly. "And it will be because men do not speak words but speak shit!"

Hagbard had turned pale beneath his olive skin. "You're coming into court," he said slowly, "and you're going to tell the judge that, in exactly those words."

...

Federal Court for the 17th District of New York State. Plaintiffs: John Feather, Samuel Arrows, et al. Defendants: Bureau of Indian Affairs, Department of the Interior, and President of the United States. For plaintiffs: Hagbard Celine. For the defendants: George Kharis, John Alucard, Thomas Moriarity, James Moran. Presiding: Justice Quasimodo Immhotep.

MR. FEATHER (concluding): And it will be because men do not speak words but speak shit! MR. KHARIS: Your honor, I move that the last speech be stricken from the record as irrelevant and immaterial. We are dealing here with a practical question, the need of the people of New York for this dam, and Mr. Feather's superstitions are totally beside the point.

MR. CELINE: Your honor, the people of New York have survived a long time without a dam in that particular place. They can survive longer without it. Can anything survive, anything worth having, if our words become, as Mr. Feather says, excrement? Can anything we can reasonably call American Justice survive, if the words of our first President, if the sacred honor of George Washington is destroyed, if his promise that the Mohawk could keep these lands "as long as the mountain stands and the grass is green," if all that becomes nothing but excrement?

MR. KHARIS: Counsel is not arguing. Counsel is making speeches.

MR. CELINE: I am speaking from the heart. Are you—or are you speaking excrement that you are ordered to speak by your superiors?

MR. ALUCARD: More speeches.

MR. CELINE: More excrement

JUSTICE IMMHOTEP: Control yourself, Mr. Celine.

MR. CELINE: I am controlling myself. Otherwise, I would speak as frankly as my client and say that most of the speeches here are plain old shit. Why do I say "excrement" at all, if it isn't, tike you people, to disguise a little what we are all doing? It's shit. Plain shit.

JUSTICE IMMHOTEP: Mr. Celine, you are coming very close to contempt of court. I warn you.

MR. CELINE: Your honor, we speak the tongue of Shakespeare, of Milton, of Melville. Must we go on murdering it? Must we tear it away from its last umbilical connection with reality? What is going on in this room, actually? Defendants, the U.S. government and its agents, want to steal some land from my clients. How long do we have to argue that they have no justice, no right, no honor, in their cause? Why can't we say highway robbery is highway robbery, instead of calling it eminent domain? Why can't we say shit is shit, instead of calling it excrement? Why do we never use language to convey meaning? Why must we always use it conceal meaning? Why do we never speak from the heart? Why do we always speak words programmed into us, like robots?

JUSTICE IMMHOTEP: Mr. Celine, I warn you again.

MR. FEATHER: And I warn you. The world will die. The stars will go out. If men and women cannot trust the words spoken, the earth will crack, like a rotten pumpkin.

MR. KHARIS: I call for a recess. Plaintiff and their counsel are both in no emotional state to continue at this time.

MR. CELINE: You even have guns. You have men with guns and clubs, who are called marshals, and they will beat me if I don't shut up. How do you differ from any other gang of bandits, then, except in using language that conceals what you are doing? The only difference is that the bandits are more honest. That's the only difference. The only difference.

JUSTICE IMMHOTEP : Mr. Marshal, restrain the counsel.

MR. CELINE: You're stealing what isn't yours. Why can't you talk turkey for just one moment? Why—

JUSTICE IMMHOTEP: Just hold him, Marshal. Don't use unnecessary force. Mr. Celine, I am tempted to forgive you, considering that you are obviously much involved with your clients, emotionally. However, such mercy on my part would encourage other lawyers to believe they could follow your example. I have no choice. I find you guilty of contempt of court. Sentencing will take place when court reconvenes after a fifteen-minute recess. You may speak at that time, but only on any mitigating grounds that should lighten the degree of your sentence. I will not hear the United States government called bandits again. That is all.

MR. CELINE: You steal land, and you will not hear yourselves called bandits. You order men with guns and clubs to hold us down, and you will not hear yourselves called thugs. You don't act from the heart; where the hell do you act from? What in God's name does motivate you?

JUSTICE IMMHOTEP: Restrain him, Marshal.

MR. CELINE: (Indistinguishable.)

JUSTICE IMMHOTEP: Fifteen-minute recess.

BAILIFF: All rise.

Charles Manson Interview with Charlie Rose

Charles Manson Interview with Charlie Rose part 1 & the rest

A great interview with a fascinating character. This interview I can, sort of, understand his B.S. and where he comes from. His belief and value systems got shaped in prison and on the street, and he really tries hard to make clear how different his reality tunnel is from the interviewer. And also how the image of him was partly manufactured (in a different interview more so than here). He makes a lot of fascinating remarks and social comments between some of the madness, and the ending is just gold. Many gems in there.

manson: Everything is love, there's nothing that isn't love, even the confusion is love in one form or another, it's misguided. Love is a word to supplement for God, or I would rather use the word intelligence, if you're goning to use the word love, use the word intelligence, because love is misunderstood in so many different ways and fashions.
rose: do you need to be loved?
manson: loved... I am loved, I am love
rose: by whom? are you loved?
manson: I am love
rose: are you loved?
manson: all the way and around the world with it, didn't you see it? 215 times taking it in the fire with it man
rose: meaning what
manson: me? meaning I'm taking up all the slack for you assholes. I'm carrying you around Nixon. I still got you... Reagan, hey Ronny! ... I'm intertwined in your very soul man.

I Met The Walrus (John Lennon short film)

I Met The Walrus (John Lennon short film)

In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries the terrifyingly genius pen work of James Braithwaite with masterful digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit, and timeless message.

Reality Sandwich: An American (Occult) Fascism?

Check out this interesting article at Reality Sandwich: An American Fascism? by Gary Lachman. The following is a slightly edited version of the afterword to his new book, Politics and the Occult: The Left, the Right, and the Radically Unseen, to be published by Quest in November 2008.
Starting with the mysterious appearance of the Rosicrucian manifestoes in Germany in the early 1600s, and ending, as the afterword shows, with some recent developments in the US, I look at some examples of occult or "illuminated" politics in the modern world. Some areas covered include Rosicrucian utopianism and its collapse in the Thirty Years War; the esoteric sexual politics of 18th century London and its influence on Emanuel Swedenborg; Freemasonry and Mesmerism's impact on radicalism in England, as well as on the French and American Revolutions; the rise of "popular occultism" in the work of the cabalistic socialist, Eliphas Levi; spiritualism and its links to the early Women's Movement; Theosophy and Indian self-government; the 'progressive' occultism of the fin-de-siecle; the Great Game and the search for Shambhala; the birth of the counterculture in the early 1900s; matriarchy, myth and the rise of Nazism; Rene Schwaller du Lubicz and anti-Semitism; Rene Guenon, Traditionalism, and the retreat from the modern world; the magical fascism of Julius Evola; and Mircea Eliade's links to the far-right politics of the Legion of the Archangel Michael. We are the Illuminati

We are the Illuminati

Another Robert Anton Wilson compilation about paranoia & winner and loser scripts. Paranoia isn't a very healthy state of mind (by its very definition :p), I'm more for pronoia (the universe is conspiring for me! :p) and metanoia, by which I mean you can theorize all you want but don't 'believe 100%' or take assumptions for truth (the wikipedia entry talks about quite different stuff :p) and don't go obsessively worrying - how would that be beneficial in any way? The wonderful thing about this is more possibilities and avenues of thought are possible, lateral instead of linear thinking. Ideas are toys & the search for truth a game. Thanks Nearing2012

100 Greatest Stand Ups: Bill Bailey, Bill Hicks

100 Greatest Stand Ups: Bill Bailey, Bill Hicks

Daily Conspiracy: Illuminatus!

Excerpt from the semi-fictional novel 'Illuminatus! Trilogy - Eye in the Pyramid' by Robert Shea & Robert Anton Wilson, written between 1969 and 1971.

"The Illuminati. The real force behind all communist and fascist movements. Whether you're aware of it or not, they're also already in control of the United States government."

"I thought everybody in your crowd was a right-winger—"

"And I told you spacial metaphors are inadequate in discussing politics today," Hagbard interrupted.

"Well, you sound like a gang of right-wingers. Up until the last minute, all I've heard from you and your people was that the Illuminati were commies, or were behind the commies. Now you say they're behind fascism and behind the current government in Washington, too."

Hagbard laughed. "We came on like right-wing paranoids, at first, to see how you'd react. It was a test."

"And?"

"You passed. You didn't believe us—that was obvious—but you kept your eyes and ears open and were willing to listen. If you were a right-winger, we would have done our pro-communist rap. The idea is to find out if a new man or woman will listen, really listen, or just shut their minds at the first really shocking idea."

"I'm listening, but not uncritically. For instance, if the Illuminati control America already, what's the purpose of the assassinations?"

"Their grip on Washington is still pretty precarious. They've been able to socialize the economy. But if they showed their hand now and went totalitarian all the way, there would be a revolution. Middle-readers would rise up with right-wingers, and left-libertarians, and the Illuminati aren't powerful enough to withstand that kind of massive revolution. But they can rule by fraud, and by fraud eventually acquire access to the tools they need to finish the job of killing off the Constitution."

"What sort of tools?"

"More stringent security measures. Universal electronic surveillance. No-knock laws. Stop and frisk laws. Government inspection of first-class mail. Automatic fingerprinting, photographing, blood tests, and urinalysis of any person arrested before he is charged with a crime. A law making it unlawful to resist even unlawful arrest. Laws establishing detention camps for potential subversives. Gun control laws. Restrictions on travel. The assassinations, you see, establish the need for such laws in the public mind. Instead of realizing that there is a conspiracy, conducted by a handful of men, the people reason—or are manipulated into reasoning—that the entire populace must have its freedom restricted in order to protect the leaders. The people agree that they themselves can't be trusted. Targets for assassination will be mavericks of left or right who are either not part of the Illuminati conspiracy or have been marked as unreliable. The Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King, for example, were capable of mobilizing a somewhat libertarian left-right-black-white populist movement. But the assassinations that have occurred so far are nothing compared to what will take place. The next wave will be carried out by the Mafia, who will be paid in Illuminati gold."

"Not Moscow gold," said George with a smile.

"The puppets in the Kremlin have no idea that they and the puppets in the White House are working for the same people. The Illuminati control all sorts of organizations and national governments without any of them being aware that others are also controlled. Each group thinks it is competing with the others, while actually each is playing its part in the Illuminati plan. Even the Morituri—the six-person affinity groups which splintered from the SDS Weathermen, because the Weathermen seemed too cautious—are under the control of the Illuminati. They think they're working to bring down the government, but actually they are strengthening its hand. The Black Panthers are also infiltrated.

Everything is infiltrated. At present rate, within the next few years the Illuminati will have the American people under tighter surveillance than Hitler had the Germans. And the beauty of it is, the majority of the Americans will have been so frightened by Illuminati-backed terrorist incidents that they will beg to be controlled as a masochist begs for the whip."

George shrugged. Hagbard sounded like a typical paranoid, but there was this submarine and the strange events of the past few days. "So the Illuminati are conspiring to tyrannize the world, is that it? Do you trace them back to the First International?"

They're what happened when the Enlightenment of the eighteenth century collided with German mysticism. The correct name for the organization is Ancient Illuminated Seers of Bavaria. According to their own traditions they were founded or revived in seventeen seventy-six on May first by a man named Adam Weishaupt. Weishaupt was an unfrocked Jesuit and a Mason. He taught that religions and national governments had to be overthrown and the world ruled by an elite of scientifically-minded materialistic atheists, to be held in trust for the masses of mankind who would eventually rule themselves when enlightenment became universal. But this was only Weishaupt's 'Outer Doctrine.' There was also an 'Inner Doctrine,' which was that power is an end in itself, and that Weishaupt and his closest followers would make use of the new knowledge being developed by scientists and engineers to seize control of the world. Back in seventeen seventy-six, things were run largely by the Church and the feudal nobility, with the capitalists slowly getting a bigger and bigger piece of the pie. Weishaupt declared that these groups were obsolete, and it was time for an elite with a monopoly on scientific and technological knowledge to seize power. Instead of eventually producing a democratic society, as the 'Outer Doctrine' promised, the Ancient Illuminated Seers of Bavaria would saddle mankind with a dictatorship that would last forever."

"Well, it would be logical enough that someone around that time would think of that," said George. "And who more likely than a Mason who was an unfrocked Jesuit?"

"Well, the Illuminati, after staying above ground long enough to recruit a hard-core membership from Masons and freethinkers and to establish international contacts, allowed it to seem that the Bavarian government had suppressed them. Subsequently, the Illuminati launched their first experimental revolution, in France. Here they suckered the middle class, whose true interests lay in laissez faire free enterprise, to follow the Weishaupt slogan of 'Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.' The catch, of course, is that where equality and fraternity rule, there is no liberty. After the career of Napoleon, whose rise and fall was purely the result of Illuminati manipulations, they started planting the seeds of European socialism, leading to the revolutions of eighteen forty-eight, to Marxism, finally to the seizure of Russia, one-sixth of the earth's land mass. Of course, they had to engineer a world war to make the Russian Revolution possible, but by nineteen seventeen they had become quite good at that. World War Two was an even more clever job and resulted in more gains for them."

"Another thing this explains," George said, "is why orthodox Marxism-Leninism, in spite of all its ideals, always turns out to be not worth a shit. Why it's always betrayed the people wherever it established itself. And it explains why there's such an inevitable quality about America's drift toward totalitarianism."

"Right," said Hagbard. "America is the target now. They've got most of Europe and Asia. Once they get America, they can come out into the open. The world will then be much as Orwell predicted in Nineteen Eighty-four. They bumped him off after it was published, you know. The book hit a little too close to home. He was obviously on to them—the references to Inner and Outer parties with different teachings, O'Brien's speech about power being an end in itself—and they got him. Orwell, you see, ran across them in Spain, where they were functioning quite openly at one point during the Civil War. But artists also arrive at truth through their imaginations, if they let themselves wander freely. They're more likely to arrive at the truth than more scientific-minded people."

"You've just tied two hundred years of world history up in a theory that would make me feel I should have myself committed if I accepted it," said George. "But I'm drawn to it, I admit. Partly intuitively—I feel you are a person who is essentially sane and not paranoid. Partly because the orthodox version of history that I was taught in school never made sense to me, and I know how people can twist history to suit their beliefs, and therefore I assume that the history I've learned is twisted. Partly because of the very wildness of the idea. If I learned one thing in the last few years, it's that the crazier an idea is the more likely it is to be true. Still and all, given all those reasons for believing you, I would like some further sign."

New Synchromystic Page at Dedroidify.com

Nothing special but in an effort to help spread the word at least a little more on Synchromysticism, I've added a Synchromystic webpage on the archive companion site to this blog Dedroidify.com.

It's a little summary page including links to sites, videos and interviews. I obviously also included the great blogroll (Who's the admin of that? Thuther thoughts has been gone for a while and some blogs could be added) and a little extra, access to a lot of information on one page - that maybe you could use to help introduce synchromysticism to more people.

I'm open to any suggestions, I'll add anyone that would like a graphic feature (and will add some more automatically when I find some time, damn html takes up a lot of time ;p), just lemme know and link me the jpg file (I'm not hotlinking any images now & lemme know if you'd like a change if you're on it). And let me know if I forgot a blog or site. There are so many out there!

Robert Anton Wilson Lives on!

Robert Anton Wilson LIVES ON

RAW talks about chaos in general and the hilarious joke 'religion' of Discordianism, based on Eris - the goddess of chaos and discord - and its catmas, the opposite of dogmas.

My favorites from this vid: "All there is, is metaphor" & "the guy who thinks he's the only pope."

"Meh E-book readers, cause ppl don't read anymore" says Jobs

Steve Jobs from Apple said this about the Kindle ebook reader:

“It doesn’t matter how good or bad the product is, the fact is that people don’t read anymore,” he said. “Forty percent of the people in the U.S. read one book or less last year. The whole conception is flawed at the top because people don’t read anymore.”

This kinda sucks, I'd really love a good ebook reader, a shame that Apple won't be doing much about it. The new Iwhatevers may be the closest current thing to 'tricorders', but it's not like TEXT is such a hard challenge to support decently in your freaking device. What an argument too, hey lets give up on reading... :p totally ignoring the blogosphere and internet in general. With a keyboard option you have a great easy mobile computer, the future!

And what, doesn't Steve Jobs read beside his bank account?

Shrooms harnessing Radiactive Energy

What's blooming inside the perilous depths of the Chernobyl reactor?

Sitting at the centre of the exclusion zone, the damaged reactor unit is encased in a steel and cement sarcophagus. It's a deathly tomb that plays host to about 200 tonnes of melted radioactive fuel, and is swarming with radioactive dust.

But it's also the abode of some very hardy fungi which researchers believe aren't just tolerating the severe radiation, but actually harnessing its energy to thrive.

Radiation-loving fungi may also prove useful, according to Dadachova. Their melanin gene, she said, might eventually be popped into food crops and used to help growth in difficult regions. And astronauts on long spaceflights might one day find a useful, self-replenishing diet in black, melanin-rich fungi.

And because the fungi don't actually 'eat' radioactive material, but simply use the energy it radiates, Dadachova said, they're in no danger of becoming radioactive themselves. Read on here.

The questions on everybody's minds are obviously:
1. Are they edible? ("1. All fungi are edible. 2. Some fungi are not edible more than once." Terry Pratchett)
2. Are they Hallucinogenic? (And if they are, what are the chances of me ever coming back?!)
3. WHERE CAN I GET SOME? (I'm not going into that reactor, and I'm just kidding too ;p)

More seriously though (not much), check out McKenna's views on a possible space travelling mushroom.

Society of the Spectacle

"We must discover new frontiers... People have been standing for centuries before a worm-eaten door, making pinholes in it with increasing ease. The time has come to kick it down, for it is only on the other side that everything begins."
Raoul Vaneigem

Raoul Vaneigem and Guy Debord are/were two Belgian Situationists (a small group of international political and artistic agitators with roots in Anarchism, Lettrism and the early 20th century European artistic and political avant-gardes.)

Guy Debord wrote The Society of the Spectacle, a work of philosophy and critical theory about society. Let's explore some of the ideas therein:

Degradation of human life
Debord traces the development of a modern society in which authentic social life has been replaced with its representation: "All that was once directly lived has become mere representation." Debord argues that the history of social life can be understood as "the decline of being into having, and having into merely appearing." This condition, according to Debord, is the "historical moment at which the commodity completes its colonization of social life."

With the term spectacle, Debord defines the system that is a confluence of advanced capitalism, the mass media, and the types of governments who favor those phenomena. "... the spectacle, taken in the limited sense of "mass media" which are its most glaring superficial manifestation...". The spectacle is the inverted image of society in which relations between commodities have supplanted relations between people, in which passive identification with the spectacle supplants genuine activity. "The spectacle is not a collection of images," Debord writes. "rather, it is a social relationship between people that is mediated by images."

Mass media and commodity fetishism
The Society of the Spectacle is a critique of contemporary consumer culture and commodity fetishism. Before the term ‘globalization’ was popularized, Debord was arguing about issues such as class alienation, cultural homogenization, and the mass media.

When Debord says that, “All that was once directly lived has become mere representation,” he is referring to central importance of the image in contemporary society. Images, Debord says, have supplanted genuine human interaction.

Thus, Debord’s fourth thesis is "The spectacle is not a collection of images; rather, it is a social relationship between people that is mediated by images."

In a consumer society, social life is not about living but about having; the spectacle uses the image to convey what people need and must have. Consequently, social life moves further, leaving a state of 'having' and proceeding into a state of 'appearing;' namely the appearance of the image.

Comparison between religion and marketing
Debord also draws an equivalence between the role of mass media marketing in the present and the role of religions in the past. The spread of Commodity-images by the mass media, produces "waves of enthusiasm for a given product" resulting in "moments of fervent exaltation similar to the ecstasies of the convulsions and miracles of the old religious fetishism".

Other observations Debord makes on religion: "The remains of religion and of the family (the principal relic of the heritage of class power) and the moral repression they assure, merge whenever the enjoyment of this world is affirmed–this world being nothing other than repressive pseudo-enjoyment." "The monotheistic religions were a compromise between myth and history, ... These religions arose on the soil of history, and established themselves there. But there they still preserve themselves in radical opposition to history." Debord defines them as Semi-historical religion. "The growth of knowledge about society, which includes the understanding of history as the heart of culture, derives from itself an irreversible knowledge, which is expressed by the destruction of God."

Daily Conspiracy: Group Think

"The conscious and intelligent maniplulation of organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in a democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power in our country... We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested largely by men we have never heard of... We are dominated by a relatively small number of persons... It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind and who harness social forces and contrive new ways to bind and guide the world." Edward Bernays

"The sick individual finds himself at home with all other similarly sick individuals. the whole culture is geared to this kind of pathology. The result is that the average individual does not experience the separateness and isolation the fully schizophrenic person feels. He feels at ease among those suffer from the same deformation; in fact, it is the fully sane person who feels isolated int he insane society - and he may suffer so much from the incapacity to communicate that it is he who may become psychotic." Erich Fromm

"When in group narcissism, the object is not the individual but he group to which he belongs... The assertion that "my country" (or nation, or religion) is the most wonderful, the most cultural, the most powerful, the most peace-loving, etc. does not sound crazy at all; on the contrary, it sounds like an experssion of patriotism, faith and loyalty." Erich Fromm

"The larger a society or confederacy, the greater the amalgamation of collective factors - which is typical of every large organization - the more aggraveted the moral and spiritual degeneration of the individual" Carl Gustav Jung

Subcultures are just another manner of manufactured division.

SOS 'Students for an Orwellian Society' Successes

As to be expected, SOS has been quite successful. Since the events of 11 September, we have been able to convince a number of figures in national and local politics to help forward our aims. How could they do otherwise? Our successes can be shown to fit into the three major ideals of Ingsoc as expressed by Orwell:

War Is Peace
* Oceania (commonly called the US and Britain) is at war with Afghanistan Iraq. Oceania has always been at war with Afghanistan Iraq.
* Eurasia (commonly called Russia, Pakistan, etc.) is allied with Oceania in war against Afghanistan. Eurasia has always been allied with Oceania.
* In order to fight terrorism, we must cause it, says Donald Rumsfeld.
* It's okay that there were no “weapons of mass destruction” in Iraq; that's not why we went to war. It's equally okay that there are so many of them in Oceania.
* “I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace.” — George W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States

Freedom Is Slavery
* The Anti-Terrorism Act ensures US citizens' freedom by ensuring the FBI's ability to examine their activities.
* We encourage all true citizens of this country to join Operation TIPS, which, we promise, will help further an Orwellian society in ways that we at SOS cannot even begin to fathom.
* When flying, you may use the toilet. However, if it is occupied, do not wait in line for it to become free. Only a terrorist would do that.
* In London, feel secure beneath the watchful eyes of Transport for London.

Ignorance Is Strength
* There is no dissent in this country. Those who disagree with President Bush are merely confused.
* The New York Times published an excellent piece of doublethink in its magazine section on Sunday 18 November. It is bad that Al-Jazeera fails to take American positions seriously. It is good that American media doesn't take Arab positions seriously. And all this from an Arab-American scholar who President Bush the First once called “more anti-Arab than the Israelis.”
* Government agencies are requesting that certain government reports be removed from public libraries. An excellent indication that SOS is having influence at the highest levels!
* Thanks, Time Magazine for removing articles from your website!

Just an excerpt. Check the link for more of their successes so far (some links are down unfortunately).

How to Think Like a Genius

check out this page How to Think Like a Genius from wikihow.com
"Embrace change, uncertainty, and doubt. It is on these edges of knowledge that innovation and discovery happen."

Anthony De Mello Quotes

This is a real interesting man, he talks about belief systems too, have to share (& check out) more. Thanks again Earth Evolution 101!

A disciple said to him, "I am ready, in the quest for God, to give up anything: wealth, friends, family, country, life itself. What else can a person give up?"
The Master calmly replied, "One's beliefs about God."

As soon as you look at the world through an ideology you are finished. No reality fits an ideology. Life is beyond that. That is why people are always searching for a meaning to life… Meaning is only found when you go beyond meaning. Life only makes sense when you perceive it as mystery and it makes no sense to the conceptualizing mind.

To a visitor who asked to become his disciple the Master said, "You may live with me, but don't become my follower."
"Whom, then, shall I follow?"
"No one. The day you follow someone you cease to follow Truth."

Is there life before death? —that is the question!

"Help us to find God."
"No one can help you there."
"Why not?"
"For the same reason that no one can help the fish to find the ocean."

"I wish to become a teacher of the Truth."
"Are you prepared to be ridiculed, ignored and starving till you are forty-five?"
"I am. But tell me: What will happen after I am forty-five?"
"You will have grown accustomed to it."

If you just swallow everything I am telling you, I am brainwashing you.

A thought is a screen, not a mirror; that is why you live in a thought envelope, untouched by Reality.

All I did was sit on the riverbank handing out river water. After I'm gone, I trust you will notice the river.

Every word, every image used for God is a distortion more than a description.

Is it possible for the rose to say, "I will give my fragrance to the good people who smell me, but I will withhold it from the bad?" Or is it possible for the lamp to say, "I will give my light to the good people in this room, but I will withhold it from the evil people"? Or can a tree say, "I'll give my shade to the good people who rest under me, but I will withhold it from the bad"? These are images of what love is about.

Nobody can be said to have attained the pinnacle of Truth until a thousand sincere people have denounced him for blasphemy.

People who want a cure, provided they can have it without pain, are like those who favour progress, provided they can have it without change.

Suffering is a sign that you're out of touch with the truth. Suffering is given to you that you might open your eyes to the truth, that you might understand that there's falsehood somewhere, just as physical pain is given to you so you will understand that there is disease or illness somewhere. Suffering points out that there is falsehood somewhere. Suffering occurs when you clash with reality. When your illusions clash with reality when your falsehoods clash with the truth, then you have suffering. Otherwise there is no suffering.

The disciples were absorbed in a discussion of Lao-tzu’s dictum: "Those who know do not say; Those who say do not know."
When the master entered, they asked him what the words meant.
Said the master, "Which of you knows the fragrance of a rose?"
All of them indicated that they knew.
Then he said, "put it into words."
All of them were silent.

The important thing is not to know who "I" is or what "I" is. You'll never succeed. There are no words for it. The important thing is to drop the labels.

You know you are a Mystic when you wake up one day and ask, am I crazy or are they?

Wisdom tends to grow in proportion to one's awareness of one's ignorance.

"You are only a disciple because your eyes are closed. The day you open them you will see there is nothing you can learn from me or anyone."
"What then is a Master for?"
"To make you see the uselessness of having one."

Alan Watts

Alan Watts: The Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are

This book explores an unrecognized but mighty taboo - our tacit (silent) conspiracy to ignore who, or what, we really are. Briefly, the thesis is that the prevalent sensation of oneself as a separate ego enclosed in a bag of skin is a hallucination which accords neither with Western Science nor with the experimental philosophy-religions of the East.

This hallucination underlies the misuse of technology for the violent subjugation of man's natural environment and, consequently, its eventual destruction. We are therefore in urgent need of a sense of our own existence which is in accord with the physical facts and which overcomes our feeling of alienation from the universe.

"I find that the sensation of myself as an ego inside a bag of skin is really a hallucination. What we really are is, first of all, the whole of our body. And although our bodies are bounded with skin, and we can differentiate between outside and inside, they cannot exist except in a certain kind of natural environment. Obviously a body requires air, and the air must be within a certain temperature range. The body also requires certain kinds of nutrition. So in order to occur the body must be on a mild and nutritive planet with just enough oxygen in the atmosphere spinning regularly around in a harmonious and rhythmical way near a certain kind of warm star.
That arrangement is just as essential to the existence of my body as my heart, my lungs, and my brain. So to describe myself in a scientific way, I must also describe my surroundings, which is a clumsy way getting around to the realization that you are the entire universe. However we do not normally feel that way because we have constructed in thought an abstract idea of our self."

lie, lie, lie... blind them...

they have grasped the concept of property
understand that lengths of time
can be twisted into someone's
monetary advantage

but, i can see myself in that building that stands
across from me reflecting in the sky
you can see yourself swim along with giant whales
down the street reflecting in the sky

on sunny days
the people on the beach
like ants in my food
they must have closed the mall

here comes whitey to exploit
the simple pleasures nature gave me
then try to tax them all

i'm letting go
it's scaring me

lay in the yard
curled in a ball
hails in your mouth
keys still in the car door

there's a stain on the grass
that's calling us home
you lie inside for the

my heart skips a beat

lie, lie, lie, blinded...

out of reach
out of touch
out of ink
out of kindness never hazing new guys

out of teeth
out of thought

we know to avoid - their snare
they're pulling us back

Daniel Pinchbeck VS Whitley Strieber

This podcast: War in Dreamland was really excellent for me, it's a few months old so sorry for the old news. But I only listened to it now, two researchers challenging eachother on their belief system and reality tunnel. I'd love to hear more researchers doing that. It got a little heated but remained very interesting. I know about both authors but haven't read any of their books, and I've only heard and seen what Daniel Pinchbeck has online.
They get to a point in the conversation where Pinchbeck challenges Whitley Strieber on his negative view of the future, he believes there will be a huge “die-off” of the human species in the immediate future (Pinchbeck repeated this a lot hehe). Pinchbeck said he was projecting his shadow too, but ironically was losing his own temper. Strieber was able to stay relatively calm but used some strong defensive language himself, and didn't appreciate it at all when Pinchbeck suggested his entity contacts might be influencing him negatively (I have no idea :p Am fascinated to find out more. More about this from Pinchbeck later in the post). The talk never really got out of hand for me though. Pinchbeck apologized too. I never felt the need to pick a side, or was persuaded one way or the other because both men had valid points and I understood their perspectives, taking both their history in consideration and trying to learn the most this way. It just goes to show the limits of language, the unconscious connections we make and how easy it is to get emotional over our values, views and beliefs. Even for the most aware. Ah to be human. I wonder how neutral I come across in this post to some people even though I'm trying hard to be I'm sure subjectivity always continues to shine through haha ;).
I do agree though that Strieber shouldn't be so sure about, and not necessarily especially, a negative future but any future, and send those vibes out, and that more discretion and carefully worded language could be used, like E-prime. I agree with Pinchbeck that we should take responsibility for the vibes we put out there (and I'll keep trying to improve the positivity which needs a boost with the daily conspiracy series, but that doesn't mean ignoring the conspiracy realm, I'll start with a more positive daily series when the conspiracy series runs out ;)), but at the same time I agree with Strieber that everything should be looked at and explored and that I'm not convinced (yet?) either about 'thought creating reality'. Both came out ok of the interview for me.
I think I'll read Strieber's book Communion, just because I wanna know what happened now, especially since Pinchbeck mentioned the original title was going to be 'Body Terror' until an entity told him to change it! What to think, well, nothing until you have at least some amount of info to be able to come up with an interpretation ;). I won't spoil it all (lol, haven't I already?) you'll just have to listen for yourself ;). I'll include both authors own views on the discussion and some excerpts I find interesting, if you still want more I read some interesting (including some very bias-detectable) blogposts on the interwebs so head to google for that ;).

Here's Daniel Pinchbeck's view on the discussion.

"The discussion then turned in a different direction. I noted that, from my reading of Strieber's work, I suspected that Strieber was influenced by the force that the visionary philosopher Rudolf Steiner called 'Ahriman,' the evil spirit who pulls humanity down into minerality, materiality, sterile technology, and extinction. As I also noted in 2012, I told Strieber that I thought he had been manipulated by alien entities that do not have the best interests of the human species at heart. Communion is ultimately the story of Strieber's seduction by those entities he calls the 'visitors' often known as the Grays. He notes that he was going to call the book 'body terror,' but changed the name to Communion when one of them told him to do this, speaking through his wife, while she slept. He also describes how the visitors were able to make him drink a bitter substance, by feeding it to him at different junctures over time. As anyone knows who has studied fairytales and fables, to drink the potion of the other world is to become entranced and overwhelmed by the beings that inhabit it."

And here is Whitley Strieber's.

Pinchbeck accuses me of bringing on a dark future by predicting it. That’s magical thinking, and just as impotent as its opposite—that you can create a positive future by believing in it. (The jury is still out on this one for me, for me awareness is a search light and synchronicity is fascinating, and that's where I'm at at this time.)

I say in the program that I believe that mankind is going to experience a dieback, and this makes Pinchbeck furious because he fears that just by saying something like that, it will become true. I don’t want to put words in another man’s mouth, but I had the impression that he sees me as a sort of viral particle of negativism, and that my perspective is designed to bring on the destructions of which I warn—presumably, so that my evil alien masters can inherit the ruined planet, I suppose.
...
Pinchbeck is right about me in one respect. I do think that there’s going to be a dieback of the human species, and I do not think that anything can be done to avoid it. Certainly, it can be ameliorated and even, to an extent, controlled, but it is going to happen. (Well I can't agree with such an assertion. "It seems very likely at this time" is a safer way to not look foolish when it doesn't ;p)

The reason that I’m sure of this could not be more simple. In nature, there is a formation called a bell curve. When the ascending shoulder of a bell curve develops, the descending shoulder follows. Nothing goes up for ever. Entropy always sets in. It must. That’s the way that physics works. I said it on the show—at least, I think I did—and it’s worth repeating here. Nature is numbers. It’s math, pure and simple.

"Jake has developed a large body of work playing with ideas surrounding the hidden connections not just in the real world but from the work of artists and entertainment media, with the idea that we are all plugged into a giant web of connections across time and space (which means, as I've said before, that these connections are occurring at the fifth dimension, where our reality comes from, and this is why those instantaneous --faster-than-light!--hidden connections I listed at the start of this blog violate no laws of physics)." Rob Bryanton

"I find the idea that synchromysticism can be viewed as compatible with higher dimensional physics a delight." Jake Kotze

Me too. Like spidey in Indra's net. Everything's connected, explore everything.

The Law

VideoDrome: The BS Arena

The movie starts with a broadcast from Civic TV (The One you take to bed with you...) Channel 83 (11) Cable 12 (3).

"Max it's that time again, time to slowly painfully ease yourself back into consciousness, No I'm not a dream, although I've been told I'm a vision of loveliness. I'm nothing less than your faithful girl Friday, Friday James, here with your wake up call of today which is wednesday the 23rd. You got that? Wednesday the 23rd!"

Interesting, W is the 23rd letter of the alphabet. Even more so, the letter W has 2 strokes down, 3 up in it. So not only invoking the law of Fives (2+3=5), Wednesday is Mercury/Wodan's day too, the day of wisdom. Max is going to learn something today and so will the aware viewer (and reader :p).
Her name is Friday, the day of Venus, so that resonates love & sexual ecstasy (a force used rather often on tv...). Her name might signify that because she's on the TV she's a mind controlled puppet, for the pleasure of the viewer, and the puppets are named after the days of the week...

She goes on: "Remember your meeting this morning, this meeting is to take place at the Classic Hotel, Suite 17... Don't you know anyone that works nine to five? Over and out, commander."

Friday mentions 17 just for Chris from Secret Sun, who suggests 17 symbolizes an unjust death and the promise of rebirth.
The woman adds a joke that anyone working from nine to five is loco or a dummy. The Mind Control theme gets carried on with "Commander".

We see a TwoFace twin resonator on the wall in Max his appartement. Max is a lowly TV station owner with 2 partners, that shows the lowest extreme shit there is to find on the airwaves.

Max is listening to a woman called Masha trying to sell a show, he doesn't wanna see the first episode but the 13th one: It's a crazy soft porn featuring Harlequin/Joker masks, chinese puppets, and the clearest phallic symbol possible lol, which looks like a mushroom too, kind of. It's too soft for Max.

Camera moves, oh there you go: a black monolith building. Moving over to a pyramid type sky-window with a thingy on it lol :p. All this to see a satellite dish, which may be the "same technology" as a pyramid...

Because Max is on the Rena King show (Rena means peace in Greek) where they'll talk tv and limits. There's a half concentric circle stargate symbol behind him. There's also a psychologist Nicki (played by Deborah Harry from Blondie) on the program too, not a very good one as she's seduced by Max (her former shadow projection which now fascinates her) in a split second.
Blondie: I think we live in overstimulated times, we crave stimulation for its own sake. We gorge ourselves on it, we always want more wether it's tactile, emotional or sexual, and I think that's bad.
Max: Then why did you wear that dress? :p after some chit chat she admits "I admit it. I live in a highly excited state of overstimulation."

Something I personally find incomprehensible, I was always bored in my old media induced reality tunnel, and pissed off at most that was offered. (Though I still took me 23 years to pick up a real book... so I understand how hard it is to wake up from it) All the world's distractions don't seem to be enough entertaining for me, though hey, I am an introvert. To compare, most of the people I know only talk about what they've "been presented". There is no creativity, only consuming. Eating up everything that's thrown at them, taking it at face value, and bitching at the things they don't like. I can barely function like that anymore, it's really hard to crawl into that old stagnant uninspired reality tunnel. I need to analyze, talk symbolism, metaphor, subliminals, agendas. I mean geez, most people in the west are just walking commercials (have you seen/heard this?!).

So the presenter goes to Brian O'blivion (who's on a tv, on a tv show):
presenter: Professor do you erotic tv shows and violent tv shows lead to desentisation, to dehumanization?
Professor Brian O'blivion says: The television screen has become the retina of the minds eye. That's why I refuse to appear on tv, except on tv, of course O'blivion is not the name i was born with, that's my tv name (just like so many of the aristocracy have changed their names to not stand out too much, keeping the illusion), soon all of us will have special names, names designed to cause the Cathode Ray Tube to resonate." (MMORPG alert? ;p another useful bondage tool to keep people from actually achieving something tangible on this planet.)

Then we see Max checking out a show from 'Malaysia' (mal, in french=bad - asia...? :p) called VideoDrome which shows the torture of a person (seems to resonate the trauma mind control Monarch programming, but also the Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo atrocities along with 'terrorist videos')
Max likes it (because he thinks its 'fictional', not to mention low cost) but wants to see more before deciding to buy it.
"I'm looking for something that'll... break through. You know?" Max

Later Masha comes back to Max and he says he's looking for the hardcore shit, like videodrome:

Max Renn: Do you know a show called 'Videodrome'?
Masha: Video what?
Max Renn: Videodrome. Like video circus, video arena. Do you know it?
Masha: No.
Max Renn: It's just torture and murder. No plot, no characters. Very, very realistic. I think it's what's next.
Masha: Then God help us.

Later Max goes to Blondie's office, who does a radio show where she's a disturbing mix between a psychologist and a sex line, more of what the people think they'll like - instead of what's good for them. A large problem with talking therapy is all that is going on is focusing on the problems in many ways, how do you expect the problem to go away then?

They have a date at Max his place, they watch Videodrome as Blondie finds the tape by 'accident', after only watching a little she asks Max to cut her, what a crazy susceptible bitch.

Nicki Brand: Got any porno?
Max Renn: You serious?
Nicki Brand: Yeah. It gets me in the mood. [looks through casettes]
Nicki Brand: What's this? "Videodrome"?
Max Renn: Torture. Murder.
Nicki Brand: Sounds great.
Max Renn: Ain't exactly sex.
Nicki Brand: Says who? (Anyone who isn't brainwashed & traumatized...)

In the movie the city of Pittsburg gets named a crapload of times, I dunno why, but here's an interesting thing I came up with: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whose official "federal" spelling of its city name was "Pittsburg" from 1891 to 1911. It may be a coincidental clue to the biggest psyop of all time or I'm missing something :p

Later he meets Masha again who tried to sell him the chinese soft porn, she tells him about videodrome: "what you see on that show, it's for real"
Max: "I can't believe it." (one of the biggest problems in this world, the censorship of Belief Systems, oh if only the world knew how more farfetched their consensus reality was, compared to the fiction of which they are sure is too far 'out there' (their, belief system or scope of reality.)
Woman: "Then don't believe... It has something that you don't have Max, it has a philosophy and that is what makes it dangerous."

Skip to later in the movie where Friday enters his appartement, we see him hitting blondie (the psychologist from earlier, instead of Friday) twice, but he didn't hit anyone, the TV BS is superimposing over his reality. Which is a nice metaphor for believing the bullshit propaganda in the media, and opening your third eye to the Astral planes at the same time (along with a psychosis metaphor, I guess ;p).

He receives a tape from O'Blivion and it breathes. (click for earlier posted video)
O'Blivion says: "The battle for the mind of north america will be fought int he video arena, the video drome, the tv screen is the retina of the minds eye, therefor the tv screen is part of the physical structure of the brain, therefor whatever appears on tv screen emerges as raw experience for those who watch it, therefor tv is reality and reality is less than tv."

How about you, are you merely a consumer (victim) or are you a creator (victor) in the Information Arena? Are you spreading useful information? If we want to destroy the Maintream Media Beast - which is a nice metaphor for Satan as he was Legion=Many and a deceiver as well - you'll have to get a move on, unless you wanna keep living in a world based on BS.

"I'm so glad you came to me, I've been through it all myself you see, your reality is already half video hallucination, if you're not careful it'll become total hallucination, you'll have to learn to live in a very strange new world. I had a brain tumor, and I had visions, I believe the visions caused the tumor and not the reverse, i feel the visions coalesce and become flesh, uncontrollable flesh, but when they removed the tumor, it was called videodrome, I was the I was videodromes first victim. *gets killed* :p

Max: who's behind it what do they want?!

Then we see the executioner (Al Qaeda aka CIA stylee), take of her hood and it's Blondie, wouldn't you know.
Blondie: I want you max, you, come to me, come to nicky, come on, don't make me wait, please...
The TV breathes as if its alive... and Max puts his head into the TV in the stargate mouth, obviously... (entering another world, a metaphor for being fooled by the tv propaganda)

Later we see the King and Joker (Fool) cards on a different tv, Pisces symbolism high on the wall as well.

Max meets with O'Blivion's daughter. As Max hands the tape to her: "be careful, 'it bites'", ah the tape and reality (bites)? ;p. Oh there you go, a nice satanic reversed cross in background, along with many historic relics. They go to a room full of data of O'blivion, who's dead (the tv on tv show were earlier recorded images), this room symbolizes his DNA, memory bank, etc.

O'blivion thought his tumor wasn't a tumor at all but:
"A new organ, a new part of the brain, I think that massive doses of videodrome's signal will ultimately create a new outgrowth of the human brain which will produce and control hallucination to the point that it will change human reality, after all there is nothing real outside our perception of reality, is there? Huhuhuh, you can see that, can't you?"

Life and the human species evolves and adapts to what it is constantly experiencing, if all you're experiencing is mainstream media, guess what you'll devolve to. A few clips of people being asked questions about politics or recent history shows you where we're going, and it's looking kinda frustratingly bad.

Someone who calls max has a car waiting for him, that's never good:
In the limo on the screen, a logo comes up: Spectacular Optical, an eye concentric circle stargate symbol says HELLO these are the bad guys. They say they make cheap glasses for the third world, along with missile guiding systems for NATO and videodrome :p How many of our own reality's corporations have a front for the atrocities they commit. In any case let me remind you that Child and Slave labor is still a reality, and Western companies among others are enjoying the profits of it. Now please go buy yourself those new pair of sneakers and chocolate, and die a little inside.

Max is wearing hexagonal glasses (among many things a symbol for community, the bee-hive, Max is going to be assimilated) - "you're playing with dynamite" says Barry Convex of Spectacular Optical. Later they want to try to record his hallucinations with a prototype device, because all the other test subjects have gone mad:
"But for now I think that you'll find a little s&m will be necessary to trigger off a good healthy series of hallucinations. It's why our videodrome show is so strange, something to do with the effects of exposure to violence in the nervous system, it opens up receptors in the brain and the spine and then allows the videodrome signal to sink in."
Max: "You mean I'm going to have to hurt you barry?"
Barry: "No, just think about it."

"You'll forgive me if I don't stay around to watch. I just can't cope with the freaky stuff. "
Barry Convex - a lot of people responsible for evils in this world can't even look at their own atrocities.

after wacky hallucinations, max wakes up in his bed and says "what's going on professor oblivion, I mean really" but then he sees his 'victim' of the hallucination in real life next to him in his bed. He covers her up with a pillow, there :p, and goes to the other room to call his work partner who finds all the vids for him, and he doesn't see the woman, Convex said he'd have more hallucinations... (Which is a nice metaphor meaning, anyone who accepts a Belief System pushed by authorities, will be experiencing reality through those B.S. filters - effectively hallucinating a reality that will be preserved by the psychological phenomenon of Confirmation Bias. This is how easy it is to divide and control a planet.)

Later we find out that Barry was conspiring with his working partner al along, and they tell him VideoDrome had never been transmitted, they just showed him tapes. And then they ask him why he really watched the tapes. An easy way of shifting blame, using curiosity which is normally a learning tool (see how kids their curiosity gets crushed by their annoyed parents and the school system.) Harlon, Convex his boss or something (who cares) says:
"North America's getting soft, *patron*, and the rest of the world is getting tough. Very, very tough. We're entering savage new times (the only people who can predict the future are the ones who've set the agenda :p), and we're giong to have to be pure and direct and strong, if we're going to survive them. Now, you and this cesspool you call a television station and your people who wallow around in it, your viewers who watch you do it, they're rotting us away from the inside. We intend to stop that rot. " (Nevermind they started the rot, and intend to 'stop' it by increasing the rot, lol, wtf)
Max: I gotta be hallucinating now right? You guys can't be for real!

They 'analysed' his hallucinations (sounds like Scientology) and he's ready for something new, a new distraction. "I want you to open up to me" and his body just eats the tape, oh well.

He's now an effective mind controlled hallucinating puppet, and he hears voices that they want his channel and he has to kill his partners. He stuck his gun in the hole in his body (the tape hole) a while ago, and gets it out, too bad it's start portruding his hand, and now is another organ like the previously mentioned 'hallucination-tumor', the gun is now a part of his body. A reshaped killer, like any soldier on the planet. They are no longer innocent humans, they are now human-weapon hybrids... The caterpillar, before it turns into a butterfly, first turns into a PUPPET.

The Max puppet goes to his partners and kills them, no hesitation. He gets out of the office and passes people carrying two doors (into other worlds, stargates - can also be a metaphor for 'obstacles').

Now max the mind controlled puppet hears voices again "kill Bianca O'blivion, she can hurt us, don't let her hurt us max" over and over the same message

He hears a plane flying over and smashes his way through one of the 2 dagon-symbol windows of a door which has another reversed satanic cross in the background. She knows he's come to kill her, but Max acts like an alter of his former personality to confuse her, but she knows what's up Bianca: "They can make you do what they want... they want you to destroy me."
Max: "Destroy you..."

She tries to appease to him by saying they killed Nicky (Blondie) on videodrome,
"videodrome is death"
a gun fleshed (uncontrollable flesh?) out of the tv shoots Max, "thats better, so much better" says Bianca O'blivion, "it's always painful to remove the cassette and change the program, but now that we have, you'll see you've become quite different from what you were." (What they're talking about here is the cognitive dissonance when your Belief System, aka your Reality, falls apart.)

"I am the video word made flesh"

She knows how she can use him to destroy videodrome:
"You know what you have to do, you'll turn against videodrome, you use the weapons they've given you to destroy them. Death to the videodrome, long live the new flesh!"

Let's hope some of the thousands of puppets used by governments, secret societies and the like rise up too...

We go to a kind of "They Live" room where the 'elites' celebrate their 'cleverness'.

A quote from the dude on stage: "Love comes into the eye, and the eye is the window to the soul." Which is bullshit, love only comes into the eye in a culture obsessed with visuals.
Max shoots him in front of four zodiac cross like symbols with a central Eye. He goes down and freaky damn organs start growing out of his head and body. Woot, you create a monster you get eaten by it.

Max is already gone and we see him walking over a rail road track, he finds his way inside somewhere, it's a dump with a mattress and a tv.

Blondie is on the tv, obviously: "I was hoping you'd be back. I'm here to guide you Max, I've learned a lot since I last saw you, I learned that death is not the end. I can help you."
Max: "I don't know where I am now, having trouble... finding my way around."
Blondie: "That's because you've gone about as far as you can with the way things are. Videodrome still exists, it's very big, very complex. You hurt them but you haven't destroyed them, to do that you have to go on to the next phase."
Max: What phase is that?
Blondie: "Your body has already done a lot of changing, but that's only the beginning, the beginning of the new flesh. You have to go all the way now, total transformation. Do you think you're ready?"
Max: "Yes I am, I'll do it."
Blondie: "To become the new flesh you first have to kill the old flesh. But don't be afraid. Don't be afraid to let your body die. Just come to me max, come to nicky, watch, I'll show you how, it's easy..."

Made me think of "You can't win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine." - so as in his mortal life the caterpillar has gone to PUPPET, to evolve to a butterfly he'll have to kill himself... may be a metaphor to kill the puppet caterpillar's old personality and rigid reality tunnel before the butterfly can find freedom and soar. Let's take it another route, if there's consciousness after death, how would getting killed serve the greater good? If you're still an awareness mess you'd get lost in the Bhardos, maybe with sufficient progress in this life you could reincarnate even more powerfully. Or if you ascend to higher dimensions, perhaps you assist the ECCO Earth Coincidence Control Center to arrange synchronicities for others. I'm winging it theoretically here.

and he sees him pointing a gun at himself on tv,
"long live the new flesh" and the tv explodes

and then he does it himself. End of movie.
