Does anyone else doubt this is such a great idea or am I alone in this? I'm afraid dealing with pain is what makes us truly human. We would never have developed any culture, any poetry, if we hadn't had to deal with (psychological)pain. btw: pain and pleasure are the two poles of one polarity. You can't simply take one away and stay with the other. Or am I missing out on the irony here?
Bush once said on CNN: "Technology is the ticket!" and the screen faded to black. That's my view on technology, I hope consciousness emerges making technology obsolete.
And I will never accept technology in my body, not as long as engineers can't make a decent freaking Operating System, etc ;)
And yes, embrace your dark side, learn from it, oh how much one can learn from it ;)

But! That doesn't mean we can't learn something from these views. My initial rejection of this material actually made me check it out and post it. And also people arguing for techno utopia > techno distopia ;p hehe.
