Daniel Pinchbeck interviews Joe Rogan

This is pre-2012 but great to see these 2 interesting guys together.

I'm reading Daniel Pinchbeck's Breaking open the head and am amazed for some reason that's it's so well written. I mean it's spectacularly good.

Fun with Language & Associations 2

First of this chaotic series is here
Now with extra etymology!

Alone: AllOne, Al1, Eye Al1 (I Alone), Home is where All is One. Home Al1!

Ark of the Covenant: a) was possibly just the box they kept the entheogens in, the myth was if you looked inside you would die - but it was probably the priesthood that would kill you ;p (thanks James Arthur). b) Other take on it of Nassim Haramein explained by Daniel Pinchbeck (thanks Hidden Dakini)

ASS: A Secret Society. Ety: Beast of Burden. Some stuff you don't have to make up, it's just too easy.

Authority: in dutch is "gezag", add an a and "gezaag" means "sawing" (wait for it) or the more used metaphorical meaning: "whining"!

Awesome: In west-flemish dialect: "Oasemn" (same phonetically) means "breathing", "to breathe". However awesome did not always mean something positive, quite the opposite.

Belief: in dutch "geloof", also means "faith". "Loof" without the "ge" means "praise"...
Ety: Holy shit are you ready for this: Belief used to mean "trust in God", then Belief had by 16c. become limited to "mental acceptance of something as true" (in other words BS in a lot of cases) from the religious use in the sense of "things held to be true as a matter of religious doctrine" (c.1225). So... basically it means dogma.

Catmagree: catma + agree, I catmagree: I seem to agree at this time with the current body of evidence but am open to new interpretation.

Citizens: C-it-iz-zen-S - See it is Zen Wisdom (thanks Imagical Greek) Ety: from City. Shame we don't use Denizen much anymore, I love the word denizen :p (ety: inside, within)

crISIS: Interesting ety. The cliché about the Chinese character also representing Opportunity is... wrong. And in fact it does not mean opportunity but "incipient moment" or "crucial point", just like "turning point" in the english etymology. Don't ever be sad about illusions dashing to pieces, instead be glad about the turning point and the acquiring of more truth ;p.

Dungeon: in dutch "kerker", -er: kerk=church (and 'er' is just a suffix)
(Kerker is from the latin Carcer, from which incarceration comes as well.)

Eternity: etern E.T. ether E.T., return E.T. ? :p Ety: Great Age.

Etymology: True Sense ;p

Freedom: We are all born free! When turned into dutch: "vree dom" sounds like "wreed dom" which means "pretty dumb" (freedumb) and "wreed" literally means "cruel", I guess we can apply that to western politicians perversion of the word. Freedom is one of my highest ideals, though the true freedom, not what silly brainwashed citizens think it is.

Hallucination: Hal/All Lucid Nation ;p - Ety: "wander (in the mind), dream" (though also "deceive", tis possible!)

Hope: Dope (Opiate for the masses? ;p), Nope, Rope :p LOL. Ety: "wish, expect, look forward (to something)", Hmm, wishful thinking eh? ;p. Some suggest a connection with hop (v.) on the notion of "leaping in expectation." Don't get me wrong though I much prefer hope-based over fear-based poly-tics.

Import-ant: What do you choose to import into your mind?, Ety: Bring in.

Island: Is land, Eye land. Ety: Thing on the water, lol.

Life: In flemish/dutch is "Leven" (also "To Live"), there is no singular of "Leven", the closest in flemish/dutch could be "Lef" = "Guts, Nerve, Daring". Ety: Continuance! Something quite different than the recent mechanical materialist view isn't it.

Lord: anagram for the dutch "Drol" which means Shit or turd. Screwed up ety too.

Mansion: Man Sion/Zion, Man's Ion (thanks Imagical Greek)

Missing: I once made the typo misisng - isis is missing, see aferrismoon for more info.

Mission: Missing Sion/Zion/Sun hehe. Etymology: originally of Jesuits sending members abroad, from L. missionem (nom. missio) "act of sending," from mittere "to send," oldest form probably *smittere, of unknown origin.

Missionary: 1656, from mission (q.v.). Missionary position first attested 1969; allegedly so called because Christian missionaries forced it on "primitive" people to replace their more creative variations. When are they gonna make a movie out of that one? :p

Monastery: Moon-a-stare-y (thanks Hendrik Palmgren from Red Ice)

Neo-Con: Neo=One ;p. Con-vict. Con-artist...

Ouroboros pun: "That was a long time ago" in flemish/dutch "Da's lang geleden", slang=snake.

Partizan: backwards is 'nazitrap' :p there is a movie company called partizan films (thanks Steve Willner of Labyrinth of the Psychonaut)

Soldier: soul-die-er, sol (sun) dier (thanks Imagical Greek). Ety is all about the money... Just as today really.

Science: seance (thanks Michael Skaggs of Hidden Agendas). (see first post on Language & Association for more, I have the highest respect for the Scientific Method, but not for Mainstream Science.)

Surface: How much of an Ace are you at Surfing this planet?

Understand: Under-stand, in dutch "verstaan", "ver" = far. So in both languages not the greatest connotations. Ety: Grasp the idea of. Synonym in dutch: Be-grijp, grijp = grasp.

Victim: in flemish/dutch, "slachtoffer", literal translation: "sacrificial offering". No, really. Ety: 1497, "living creature killed and offered as a sacrifice to a deity or supernatural power," from L. victima "person or animal killed as a sacrifice." Perhaps distantly connected to O.E. wig "idol," Goth. weihs "holy," Ger. weihen "consecrate" (cf. Weihnachten "Christmas") on notion of "a consecrated animal." Sense of "person who is hurt, tortured, or killed by another" is first recorded 1660; meaning "person oppressed by some power or situation" is from 1718. Weaker sense of "person taken advantage of" is recorded from 1781. Victimize is from 1830. (thanks Alex of Too Long in this Place)

War: In dutch/flemish: "In de war= confused". Ety: To confuse ;p
Are you keeping your mind on War? Eg:
Global Warming & The Climate Wars BBC docus. War on Terror: War oF Terror, or "War on Terra, Earth" (thanks Michael Tsarion) - Wars/Mars: Flip the first letter, Mars is the War(s) planet (thanks Jake Kotze of The Blob).
Video games: If we consider the theory that focus on x creates more of x, and we consider the intense nature of War video gaming, well...
World of Warcraft - Halo(=Stargate) Wars - Sun Crusher: The Great War - Twilight War: After the Fall -Act of War: Direct Action - God of War 1, 2 - Gears of War 1, 2 - Universe at War - War World - the FPS flood of many WW2 installments of series: Call of Duty (latest: World at War) / Brothers in Arms / Medal of Honor / Battlefield - War of the Ring - World in Conflict - Rome: Total War - Command and Conquer - Frontlines fuel of war - Universe at War: Earth Assault - Warhammer - Guild of War 1, 2 - crapload of Star Wars games - Theatre of War...

What Happens When You Put 300 Experts on Psychedelics...

...in the Same Room?

The "Horizons: Perspectives on Psychedelics" conference in New York presented an older and wiser psychedelic movement. By Steven Wishnia, AlterNet
"Psychedelics are 'the most powerful psychiatric medicine ever devised,' said psychotherapist Neal Goldsmith, who curated the speakers. But because the way they work as medicine -- when used in the proper setting -- is by generating mystical experiences, 'science has to expand.' Solid research, he added, could change government policy, which classifies psychedelics as dangerous drugs with no accepted medical use."
Read this, cause I can't find another article covering the conference (yet).
Steven WishnIhadabrain is a New York-based author. He is looking for a job - which is totally understandable if you include cheap shots in an article.

"Sgurd is the one I don't like."

Double Illuminated South Park Feature

A short Synchromystic write-up for episodes 12x8 and 12x9 from South Park. Synchromysticism on this blog is learning about the esoteric (consciousness or conspiracy related) from the exoteric. I didn't bother to watch the episodes over again entirely so let me know if you want to add anything.
As the good Thuth from ConspiracyGrimoire (site down now) let us know in his Thuther Thoughts PDF: (also broken link sorry!) Kenny=Buddhist, Stan=Mason, Kyle=Moralizer and Zionist, Cartman is the Fascist Neo-Nazi Neo-Con Bullshit Racist Illuminati Authority Figure in the Illuminated South Park. South Park usually has brilliant (though how hard is it to rip on other 'entertainment') but crude multi-layered humor that I'm quite sure most young viewers don't pick up on, as I notice it as I watch it with others.

In Episode 12x8 The China Probrem Cartman (Illuminati resonator) gets Butters, the gullible follower and Sheeple-resonator to join him to save the US from China. Multilayered symbolism again, as Butters also resonates Al Qaeda, or any government false flag mind controlled chump ready to follow orders. Though obviously there is initial resistance, it doesn't last long.

Butters: "I can't stop the Chinese tonight, Eric. I'm suppose to make a model car with my dad."

Things quickly get f'd up in a Chinese Restaurant, as Cartman hands Butters the gun and tells him to shoot. Though things get out of hand and allow me to translate the following:

Cartman: Aww.. dude. You shot him in the dick. (You cut his head off/You tortured him)
Butters: Huh?
Cartman: That's not cool Butters. You don't shoot a guy in the dick. (You don't cut a guy's head off/torture someone)
Butters: But I was just tryin to stop him 'n you said-
Cartman: It doesn't matter Butters! You never shoot a guy in the dick! (...) Everyone knows that! Shooting a guy in the dick!? That's just.. that's just weak... I can't believe you Butters.

So Cartman distances himself from his MK puppet quickly, like the puppetmasters of Al Qaeda and the Army Chain of Command about the Abu Ghraib scandal. Confusing the shit out of the puppet and everybody else.

The episode also rapes Indiana Jones, it alludes to the raping of Indy by Spielberg and Lucas as the ending was not well received by many, though the ones raping Indy really are of course illuminated Matt & Trey themselves, ironic.

At the ending of Indiana Jones we see a spiral staircase and 13 (bloodlines?) aliens turning into one big Grey (sick representation for the hive Illuminati mind? - or less nefariously and plain weak, just higher consciousness) and burns and kills the evil Cate Blanchett cause she is not worthy.
Compare to James Arthur's talk on the Ark of Noah, which may have housed the entheogens that the priesthood wanted to keep secret. So in the first movie for instance, you get burned and killed if you open the Ark, in actuality perhaps, the priesthood would have done that themselves because you found out their empowering secret. A key to Gnosis - Any right-brain activating practice is one of these keys, you don't need anything outside of yourself really. Of course, as James Arthur also mentions, someone ill intentioned and/or unprepared can suffer quite the bad trip too, like the shady government scientist who wanted to use them for Mind Control, haha. Another fascinating take on the Ark here by Daniel Pinchbeck talking about Nassim Haramein's theories.
So Indy has a Circuit 8 experience symbolized by the spiral staircase and extradimensional contact. A rather weak way of symbolizing an altered state of consciousness or higher consciousness. Basically ridiculing it entirely for the masses.

During the reference to The Accused Indy gets raped on a Pinball machine, there is also a reference to Deliverance (pig squealing). Later Spielberg and Lucas get arrested for raping a Stormtrooper, on a mandala like Carpet.

Fitting cause I hate the fact that in the prequels the Clone Troopers were Oztralians all of a sudden.

Butters: So wait, that's it? What about the Chinese invasion?
Cartman: I really don't care anymore, Butters. You see, I've learned something today. As Americans, our fear of seeing another country become powerful can turn us into monsters. Watching how crazy you went, watching you just shoot people in the dick like that, it made me realize that I want America to be safe but not at the cost of losing its dignity. I'd rather us be Chinese than a nation of unethical dick-shooters. (or torturers, aka waterboarders...)
(turns to walk away and points at Butters) You think about that. (Cartman walks away)
Butters: Can't believe they put 'em in jail. I thought that movie was pretty good.

In episode 12x9 Breast Cancer Show Ever Eric really shows his Illuminati colors as just being a real fucking asshole (I think I never wanted to punch him more lol) mocking Breast Cancer of all things, pissing off Wendy Testaburger so bad she ultimately just has to kick his ass.
[added: It can be interpreted as criticism on the "Breast Cancer Awareness" agenda. Thanks Celtic Rebel: "Awareness leads to more worry leads to more stress leads to more breast cancer, no? Where is all the money going??? We know its not the cure. I'm thinking a good first step towards avoiding breast cancer might be for women to stop irradiating their breasts through mammograms..."]
While alone with Wendy he's a cowardly asshole manipulating her anyway he can to save his own skin, but when others are around he's a monster. Never forget this, the "enemy" perceived as powerful are attached to their attainments and scared to death to lose their precious toys.
Btw folks, this might be more useful to some than others but ever think of investing in good dictaphone? I can only imagine how handy it can be when faced with cops, bosses, government officials and other career-whores who forget what's really important in certain situations.

The Divine Feminine can overcome the Patriarchal bullshit control system easily, it's just that the latter seems so powerful and keeps up appearances no matter what, as illustrated by Cartman's fat body and wretched behaviour, he just doesn't quit. And so Wendy finally gets fed up, draws the line and beats his ass behind it. Which is really what we should be metaphorically doing (in any peaceful way first obviously) during this economic powergrab, wage slavery wasn't bad enough as it was, but no! They have to up the ante even more, a little too much.

References in the episode: Snatch. (notice the point, it is part of the movie title): The entire fight scene between Wendy and Cartman in the end of the episode, is exactly the same as when Brad Pitt fights in Snatch.. What about Snatch.? How about 700 Billion dollars in the states, and the billions across the world The Government-and-Bank cartels stole from the tax payers?

Another reference is to the movie There Will Be Blood: After Wendy wins the fight at the very end of the episode her last line as she walks off is, "I'm finished." She is referring to one of the most popular quotations from the famous ending of the 2007 hit movie There Will Be Blood. (Haven't seen it myself.)

Of course they had to switch things up, because here Wendy takes the role of Daniel Plainview, who is the Oil asshole, and it's the other way around in South Park, she beats the Oil Asshole. Daniel Day Lewis plays Daniel Plainview, as in it's all in plainview suckers, emphasized by the actor and character having the same first name.

There will be blood is about the Oil Family Business. from the trailer: "Why don't I own this?!" Plainview. The tagline for the movie: "When ambition meets faith." When Fake Christians (or other religions) and Greedy Bastards unite. Synopsis of the movie: A story about family, greed, religion, and oil, centered around a turn-of-the-century prospector in the early days of the business.

There will be greed
There will be vengeance
There will be blood

boy: "When do we get our money Daniel?!" ...
Daniel: "I broke you and I beat you!"

"We have a sinner with us." Of course the only thing born in original sin is the institution that came up with that bullshit...

Daniel Pinchbeck VS Whitley Strieber

This podcast: War in Dreamland was really excellent for me, it's a few months old so sorry for the old news. But I only listened to it now, two researchers challenging eachother on their belief system and reality tunnel. I'd love to hear more researchers doing that. It got a little heated but remained very interesting. I know about both authors but haven't read any of their books, and I've only heard and seen what Daniel Pinchbeck has online.
They get to a point in the conversation where Pinchbeck challenges Whitley Strieber on his negative view of the future, he believes there will be a huge “die-off” of the human species in the immediate future (Pinchbeck repeated this a lot hehe). Pinchbeck said he was projecting his shadow too, but ironically was losing his own temper. Strieber was able to stay relatively calm but used some strong defensive language himself, and didn't appreciate it at all when Pinchbeck suggested his entity contacts might be influencing him negatively (I have no idea :p Am fascinated to find out more. More about this from Pinchbeck later in the post). The talk never really got out of hand for me though. Pinchbeck apologized too. I never felt the need to pick a side, or was persuaded one way or the other because both men had valid points and I understood their perspectives, taking both their history in consideration and trying to learn the most this way. It just goes to show the limits of language, the unconscious connections we make and how easy it is to get emotional over our values, views and beliefs. Even for the most aware. Ah to be human. I wonder how neutral I come across in this post to some people even though I'm trying hard to be I'm sure subjectivity always continues to shine through haha ;).
I do agree though that Strieber shouldn't be so sure about, and not necessarily especially, a negative future but any future, and send those vibes out, and that more discretion and carefully worded language could be used, like E-prime. I agree with Pinchbeck that we should take responsibility for the vibes we put out there (and I'll keep trying to improve the positivity which needs a boost with the daily conspiracy series, but that doesn't mean ignoring the conspiracy realm, I'll start with a more positive daily series when the conspiracy series runs out ;)), but at the same time I agree with Strieber that everything should be looked at and explored and that I'm not convinced (yet?) either about 'thought creating reality'. Both came out ok of the interview for me.
I think I'll read Strieber's book Communion, just because I wanna know what happened now, especially since Pinchbeck mentioned the original title was going to be 'Body Terror' until an entity told him to change it! What to think, well, nothing until you have at least some amount of info to be able to come up with an interpretation ;). I won't spoil it all (lol, haven't I already?) you'll just have to listen for yourself ;). I'll include both authors own views on the discussion and some excerpts I find interesting, if you still want more I read some interesting (including some very bias-detectable) blogposts on the interwebs so head to google for that ;).

Here's Daniel Pinchbeck's view on the discussion.

"The discussion then turned in a different direction. I noted that, from my reading of Strieber's work, I suspected that Strieber was influenced by the force that the visionary philosopher Rudolf Steiner called 'Ahriman,' the evil spirit who pulls humanity down into minerality, materiality, sterile technology, and extinction. As I also noted in 2012, I told Strieber that I thought he had been manipulated by alien entities that do not have the best interests of the human species at heart. Communion is ultimately the story of Strieber's seduction by those entities he calls the 'visitors' often known as the Grays. He notes that he was going to call the book 'body terror,' but changed the name to Communion when one of them told him to do this, speaking through his wife, while she slept. He also describes how the visitors were able to make him drink a bitter substance, by feeding it to him at different junctures over time. As anyone knows who has studied fairytales and fables, to drink the potion of the other world is to become entranced and overwhelmed by the beings that inhabit it."

And here is Whitley Strieber's.

Pinchbeck accuses me of bringing on a dark future by predicting it. That’s magical thinking, and just as impotent as its opposite—that you can create a positive future by believing in it. (The jury is still out on this one for me, for me awareness is a search light and synchronicity is fascinating, and that's where I'm at at this time.)

I say in the program that I believe that mankind is going to experience a dieback, and this makes Pinchbeck furious because he fears that just by saying something like that, it will become true. I don’t want to put words in another man’s mouth, but I had the impression that he sees me as a sort of viral particle of negativism, and that my perspective is designed to bring on the destructions of which I warn—presumably, so that my evil alien masters can inherit the ruined planet, I suppose.
...
Pinchbeck is right about me in one respect. I do think that there’s going to be a dieback of the human species, and I do not think that anything can be done to avoid it. Certainly, it can be ameliorated and even, to an extent, controlled, but it is going to happen. (Well I can't agree with such an assertion. "It seems very likely at this time" is a safer way to not look foolish when it doesn't ;p)

The reason that I’m sure of this could not be more simple. In nature, there is a formation called a bell curve. When the ascending shoulder of a bell curve develops, the descending shoulder follows. Nothing goes up for ever. Entropy always sets in. It must. That’s the way that physics works. I said it on the show—at least, I think I did—and it’s worth repeating here. Nature is numbers. It’s math, pure and simple.

Postmodern Times: 2012

Postmodern Times 2012

Postmodern Times is a series of short animated films presenting new ideas about global consciousness and techniques for social and ecological transformation. Our first episode, "Toward 2012", introduces the project, explaining concepts from the best-selling book, "2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl" (Tarcher/Penguin, 2006) by Daniel Pinchbeck, in the author's own voice. Future segments will focus on shamanism, sustainability, alternative energy systems, the Mayan Calendar, quantum physics and synchronicity, human sexuality, and a host of other subjects.

2012 Pole Shift - Mayan and I Ching prediction

2012 Pole Shift - Mayan and I Ching prediction

Jenkins, Pinchbeck and McKenna and the I Ching are featured. I think it's from this docu Decoding the Past: Mayan Doomsday. Tsss History Channel, the title, even the narration sucks so I'm not vouching for it, but at least the people and content are interesting. Btw, look out for two better 2012 posts tomorrow.

Maurice Cotterell and the Sunspot Cycle
Maurice M. Cotterell is an engineer, scientist and author who found a way of calculating the duration of long-term magnetic reversals on the Sun.

(UPDATE: review by John Major Jenkins of this Sunspot work is rather destructive, read Jenkins' Review of 'The Mayan Prophecies by Gilbert & Cotterell' here: "The effort to figure out what the end date is all about is commendable, but new perspectives concerning the astronomy of the Mayan end-date have already been published and point to a different and much more thoroughly tested and documented hypothesis - a hypothesis quite compellingly simple. As outlined earlier, my hypothesis is simply based on the astronomical alignment that occurs on the Long Count end date - the winter solstice of 2012 A.D.")

Using this knowledge he was able to break the codes of ancient sun-worshipping civilisations, In 'The Mayan Prophecies' he revealed how the mysterious beliefs of the ancient Mayas, who believed we are living in the fifth and final age of the Sun, were based on sound scientific principles.

How did a people living more than a thousand years ago in the jungles of Central America come to possess such extraordinary prophetic insights? His research reveals incredible pictorial evidence that proves the man in the tomb at Palenque, Lord Pacal, priest-king leader of the Maya concealed his knowledge in his tomb in an extraordinary way... and shared this knowledge and the higher orders of spirituality with his people, just like Krishna, Buddha, Jesus and others before him. (Another book lists Tutankhamun and Mohammed aswell.)

The tomb contains the Temple of Inscriptions which houses the famous "Lid of Palenque" (Which remains there because it weighs tons). When you look at the lid you just see a big picture. But when you overlay transparent copies at the right angles, more than 100 secret pictures of encoded knowledge appear! (The jade mask of Pacal found in the tomb can also be transformed.) This ancient knowledge is known and thrives today, concealed in sacred geometry, cherished by the Roman Catholic Church and the higher orders of Freemasonry.

What's really amazing though, is that this knowledge is not just encoded in the tomb of Pacal, but also in the Book of Revelation in the Bible, the decoded treasures found in the tomb of Tutankhamun (Which wasn't 'partially robbed and resealed' but the chaos was part of the riddle.), the statue and Tomb of Viracocha in Peru, Stonehenge and the huge Terracotta Warriors tomb of the first Emperor of China (Shi Huang-Di, who was said to be part Dragon. It was also said that his mother was impregnated by a beam of light emanating from the star Alpha Draconis. There are more than 8.000 life-sized soldiers in the tomb!)

The Temple of Pacal includes prophecies and predictions for our time leading to the year 2012. They reveal that the Mayan calendar prophesies the end of our own 'Age of the Jaguar', the fifth and 'final' 'sun' in 2012. (And the start of a new era, a consciousness and dimensional shift.) This, according to Cotterell's sunspot theories will be brought about by a sudden reversal in the earth's magnetic field. The call comes before 2012: The time to awaken is NOW

In 2008 you will be awakened!
In 2009 you will be transformed!
In 2010 you will transcend.
In 2011 you will be enlightened!
In 2012 it will be over!

David Wilcock: The Law of One series and many other sources, including my own, tell us that we DO have to prepare for this event. Though some might groan as if hearing a bad punchline, the secret is that “it’s all about spiritual growth in the end.” In order to “make the Ascension”, we have to achieve an above 50-percent motivation towards “service to others,” or the positive path, as opposed to “service to self,” or the negative path.

Terence McKenna: Timewave zero clip (full vid here)

Terence McKenna on 2012 & UFOs - from Under the Teaching Tree:
"The ufo is a mirage, being cast backward into time by the transcendental object at the end of time. (...) It's a compensatory image that haunts time because time is a kind of hologram, time is a fractal and fractal means that the same pattern is embedded again and again in a relationship of self-similarity. So because the transcendental object exists somewhere ahead of us in history there must be necessarily a tiny part of it somewhere nearby. And this is what the ufo is I think, and this is why nobody's ever gonna show you a chunk of it, and they're never gonna put an extraterrestrial on television, because it isn't that kind of a creature, it's a compensatory image from the end of time.
We have been too long under the spell of the idea that only the past creates the present, the present is actually largely created by appetite for the future and this would seem to me a highly improbable idea had I not taken psychedelics and gotten this hyperdimensional view of the system that we're living in and then we can see that yes, history is not a random walk, it's not a series of undirected random fluxuations.
History is a proces of fractal self-complexification that builds on whatever it has achieved, and so upon the complexity of animal organisation is laying the complexity of human language, upon which is layed the complexity of symbolic signification of that language, upon writing is layed technology and so forth and so on, so we are in the sense of giving birth to or creating the object of our theology, which is a kind of god or goddess, and the UFO is simply an indicator that we are so close now to encountering the concrescent transcendental object that is able to haunt the skies of earth and people who live in trailer parks :p"

Daniel Pinchbeck: Postmodern Times Toward 2012

"Clearly, the shift to a higher form of consciousness could not happen passively. The transformation of consciousness requires not only personal work, but direct and surgically precise engagement with ecological, political, psychological, commercial, technological, and spiritual aspects of reality - as Nietzsche noted, the deed creates the doer, "as an afterthought." It is inconceivable that a movement to a state of higher consciousness could take place in a subconscious murk. Such a shift could only take place in one way: in the full light of consciousness. To accomplish this would require the complete engagement of our will and our higher cognitive faculties. We would have to decondition ourselves from negative programming, overcoming distractions and self-justifications and egocentric goals---to "abandon abandonment" and "escape escapism," as I was once told in a dream - in order to act for the greater good. At the moment, it is unclear how much sacrifice will be necessary."

DMT: The Spirit Molecule Documentary

The much anticipated DMT documentary The Spirit Molecule. If you don't know what DMT is check my Pineal Gland page at my main site.

Along with the book's author and DMT researcher Rick Strassman - who was permitted to embark on the first human research with psychedelic, hallucinogenic, or entheogenic substances in the 1990s in the United States after 20 years of shameful law enforced intermission in the field - it features some wonderful people like Stanislav Grof, Alex Grey, Graham Hancock, Daniel Pinchbeck, Dennis McKenna, Ralph Metzner, Douglas Rushkoff, Ralph Abraham, Erik Davis, Huston Smith, Joe Rogan, etc!

This is a short video interview with Rick Strassman in the documentary "Magical Egypt 5: Navigating the Afterlife", about DMT.

Enlightenment Reason or Occult Conspiracy?

By Daniel Pinchbeck

What holds our world together is not only the laws of physics, but language, myth and story. Our narratives create the framework in which our actions and our intentions have meaning, or at least some kind of order. It is very hard for us to live without any coherence at all. It may even be impossible, as our minds immediately begin to weave together some type of fable to support whatever it is we find ourselves doing.

Lately, I find myself switching back and forth between divergent models or myths of reality and seeking to integrate them. One of them is the story of progress and reason, the inheritance of the secular and scientific Enlightenment. The progressive believes that a flawed society can be improved by rational policy and political pressure. The world can be made better for more people, inequities reduced and healthcare guaranteed. Although he has been strategic in his pronouncements, Barack Obama seems the model of a progressive reformer, promoting the type of sensible policies that led to the New Deal and the Great Society.

The other mythic structure that entices me is occult and conspiratorial. According to this story, there is a hidden agenda beneath the façade of chaotic events. This agenda is orchestrated by “them,” that group of elite cabals and secret societies, an amalgam of Free Masons, Vatican priests, the descendents of the Nazi scientists brought to the U.S. after World War Two, and so on. To approach this concealed dimension of world affairs, to separate accurate insights from disinformation, is extremely difficult, and perhaps impossible. The quest involves long reading lists of small-press and self-published tomes and many hours on YouTube, watching lectures presented by anxious men in drab conferences. From such unreliable sources, one learns that much alien technology has already been recovered and reverse-engineered, that a New World Order of total social control is being orchestrated, that the Ark of the Covenant is a torsion field generator perhaps hidden in the Pentagon, that shapeshifting reptilians are controlling everything, and other tidbits.

I just wonder if Obama gets elected what change we'll see.

The End of Money?

I hope this freaking world economy collapses before I have to get a job :p

The crisis may actually have far deeper roots, going back to the basis of capitalism itself, an economic system that constantly requires new markets to penetrate and cannot sustain itself without continually extending its reach. In a fully globalized world, where there are no new markets to reach or new resources to exploit, capitalism may have reached its natural limit. It is also imprecise to call the current system “capitalist” in a classical sense, as it is actually one where massive subsidies protect vested interests, from agricultural lobbies to oil companies, and the ideal of a “free market” is a convenient fiction.

In a fully globalized world, the Neoliberal model can only perpetuate itself through the types of shock effects described by Naomi Klein in The Shock Doctrine, where destruction is encouraged and then seized upon as an opportunity to redevelop and recolonize areas already within empire.
