Battlestar Galactica 78: Saga of a Star World

Humanity lived on twelve colony worlds in a far distant star system. They fought a thousand-year war with the Cylons, warrior robots created by a reptilian race which expired long ago—presumably destroyed by their own creations. Having never been commanded to cease fire, these warrior robots continuously waged war against the colonials. Mankind was defeated in a sneak attack on their homeworlds conceived by these robotic servants, now referred to as Cylons, and carried out with the help of Count Baltar (John Colicos). Protected by the last surviving warship, a "battlestar" called Galactica, the survivors fled in any ship that could fly. The Commander of the Galactica, Adama (Lorne Greene), led this "rag-tag fugitive fleet" of 220 ships in search of a new home on a legendary planet called Earth. The episodes dealt with the fleet's struggle to survive the Cylon threat and to find Earth.
The era in which this exodus took place is never clearly stated in the series itself. The implication of the final aired episode, "The Hand of God", was that the original series took place after the Apollo 11 moon landing in July 1969, almost certainly centuries later, allowing for the time necessary for the propagation at light-speed of television images of the landing to be received by the Galactica. In "Saga of a Star World" the President of the 12 Tribes states "as we approach the seventh millennium of time..." The later Galactica 1980 series is expressly set in 1980.

(This earlier screenshot shows him with Baltar, who misled him like a Grima Wormtongue who sells out his own people for power. Except of course, when you deal with evil, evil doesn't stick to the deal. Silly Baltar. Other politicians are not helpful later in the episode either and could have again caused the end of humanity by wanting all pilots at a banquet, but Adama was prepared and replaced them with other men while having the pilots ready.

Some human harvesting, always nice. You know how the aliens do it? They entertain humans in a casino above to distract them, and an elevator leads unsuspecting users down into a trap.
From the wiki: After initially escaping the Cylons, across a massive star field called the Magniton Nova Field, because of its extremely dangerous, hot environment and Cylon mines the Galactica and its "ragtag fugitive fleet" find brief respite on the resort planet of Carillon, where they hope to find food and fuel for their journey. As much of the fleet's food supplies were contaminated by pluton bombs during the Cylon attack, the fleet is in desperate straits and must find a food source soon or face starvation, and Carillon has plenty.
It quickly becomes apparent that there is more to Carillon than meets the eye. The fact that Carillon has more than enough food and fuel for the fleet's needs makes Adama wary. It is also apparently the largest tylium (fighter fuel) mining facility in that part of the galaxy, but nobody has ever heard of the place. Adama questions where the Ovions are getting their food and what the connection is between the resort on the surface and the underground mining operations. Starbuck is pleased that he is winning so much at the gaming tables, but begins to suspect that something is wrong because the gamblers never lose their money.
Adama grows increasingly suspicious and does some research on the Carillon outpost. He discovers that Baltar was responsible for performing the initial Carillon survey and reported that tylium was too minimal for mining. He immediately smells a Cylon trap.
Indeed, the Ovions, Carillon's indigenous insectoid inhabitants, are in league with the Cylons and the resort on the surface is a trap. The Ovions use humans as food for their young in nesting areas deep underground. Apollo (Richard Hatch, Tom Zarek in the new series) and Starbuck investigate the disappearance of some of their comrades and discover the conspiracy. Starbuck suspects that the Ovions are supplying the Cylons with tylium for their military and suggests to set fire to it with his laser pistol in order to blow the planet apart and deprive the Cylons of a major source of fighter fuel.

Magic: Sometimes known as Sorcery, magic is a complete conceptual system of thought, belief and knowledge that asserts human ability to control the natural world. So how does one control the natural world or "perform Magic"? It is a quite simple secret really: Manipulation of Emotions.

Emotion: An emotion is a complex pattern, involving experiential, behavioral, and physiological elements, by which an individual attempts tod eal with a personally significant matter of event.
Emotion arises without conscious effort and is either positive or negative. A good magician is a good behaviorist. Behaviorism: A philosophy of psychology based on the proposition that all things which organisms do - including acting, thinking and feeling can and should be regarded as behaviors. So in other words in order to perform "Magic" on a subject, one must control their emotional state and response. And in order to do that one must know their subject's behavior patterns.

So if the Magician studies or knows the subject's behavior patterns, the Magician can then manipulate the subject's environment to produce the desired emotional response. And the "spell" is a success. Magic has never left. Pills replace Potions. Holly-Wood movies replace wands. Media casts the spells (spelling, aaron :p).

Aside from whatever questionable personal motives are impelling him, he is using cosmetic surgery to achieve a look that is definitely transhuman. This last aspect is perhaps the most controversial and disconcerting, but the freedom to choose all your “inherited” features, both familial and racial, will probably become an intrinsic part of the transhuman era.

Yet when I asked a lot of “average” people — people who weren’t part of my circle — what they would do with the kind of self-transformative power that may perhaps be ours to wield, I was increasingly appalled. The jocks I talked to wanted to be bigger and stronger so they could beat the shit out of everybody else; the women wanted to morph into their ideal role models. I began to realize that what most people wanted was conformity; their “ideals” would turn us into a world of underachieving Nicole Kidmans and eight-foot Brad Pitts, identical cut-outs with no individualism.

My previous rather naive notion that biotechnology would free us from the tyranny of “normalcy,” that we could become anything we wanted, morph ourselves into elongated, blue-skinned, orange-haired, sixteen-fingered geniuses or perhaps flying ribbons of sensual bliss that performed acrobatic choreographies above the sunset, was a very utopian and, as it turns out, unpopular dream. Individuality or creative improvisation is the last thing most people want. So Botox is really a dreadful symptom of a new, radical mundanity enabled by biotechnology. And that’s disillusioning.

This is BS. Re-searching stuff before sending it along to other people or adding helpful information helps us to wade through the "matrix of illusion".
* Zeitgeist 1 part 1 exposed the occult symbolism in all religion (it does not advocate an occult religion) from the documentary the Pharmacratic Inquisition, which rules. Alex Jones probably did not appreciate this to start with.
Part 2 included segments of 9/11 Loose Change. And Part 3 included America: From Freedom to Fascism which includes a message against microchipping the population.
* Krishnamurti was a mystic who broke off from the theosophist movement. I'm a mystic (and I am not too fond of Krishnamurti's writings, though he obviously has some good quotes, and hey: different teachers for different people), am I suddenly a transhumanist?
* Jacque Fresco has nothing to do with the transhumanist movement, the only "transhumanist" suggestion he has ever made that I know of is bionic eyes to make the blind see, oh no! how terrible. The inhumanity... Read Jacque's book Designing the Future, check out the sites, listen and read the interviews - then you can accuse of him of whatever... (that is what you're doing if you spread this stuff, you're not just saying "these people accuse him", you are doing it too by forwarding this crap.)

I don't trust anybody unconditionally. But I also realize that researchers may be just humans in public life talking about heavy stuff, that is not easy. They could be disinfo too here for predictive programming... who knows (though that is a dark view indeed).
I just think Alex Jones really didn't appreciate the first part of Zeitgeist 1 debunking Christianity and his American spirit can't stand anything that even reflects "communism" in the slightest (The Venus Project is not communism).
AJ basically said in his first Zeitgeist 2 videos that he wants to keep hierarchy, wtf?! Hierarchy will always have people oppressed. And Alan Watt... (NOT Alan Watts) I've listened to him for hours, heard stuff I heard everywhere else and some fearmongering, no solutions oh and the info that smoking cigarettes stops chemtrail effects... Good luck with that (Obviously oversimplified here, you get the idea). I will stay aware about Fresco too, but I don't see anything nefarious in the Venus project at this time...

At present, governmental decisions have always been subject to the influence of the power elite. The cybernated complex would only manage and improve the distribution of resources, to provide clean air, clean water, and all of the amenities that enhance human life. Again, it does not control people or manage the lives of individuals -- on the contrary, it could encourage the development of individual initiative and creativity far beyond that of our present-day money- oriented culture.
There are many who fear the installations of cybernated systems. This fear is unfounded. It is not technology that is to be feared. Our concern should be with the abuse of this technology, rather than with the inanimate technology itself.
