Kings used to be sacrificed
Reading Robert Graves Greek Myths, some kings used to get sacrificed. Some were smart buggers and had a child sacrificed to buy time instead! Later they started to use animals...
from a wiki: "The notion has prehistoric roots and is found worldwide, on Java as in sub-Saharan Africa, with shaman-kings credited with rain-making and assuring fertility and good fortune. On the other hand, the king might also be designated to suffer and atone for his people, meaning that the sacral king could be the pre-ordained victim of a human sacrifice, either regularly killed at the end of his term in the position, or sacrificed in times of crisis (e.g. Domalde)."
I'm not saying we should kill off governments lol, but some form of consequence for running a country into the ground would be nice. And don't say "losing the election" is one, seriously. In Belgium it's a bunch of families doing a table dance every election, representative democracy is a joke.
Pan-ic!
The word panic derives from the Greek πανικός, "pertaining to shepherd god Pan", who took amusement from frightening herds of goats and sheep into sudden bursts of uncontrollable fear. The ancient Greeks credited the battle of Marathon's victory to Pan, using his name for the frenzied, frantic fear exhibited by the fleeing enemy soldiers.
Disturbed in his secluded afternoon naps, Pan's angry shout inspired panic (panikon deima) in lonely places. Following the Titans' assault on Olympus, Pan claimed credit for the victory of the gods because he had frightened the attackers. In the Battle of Marathon (490 BC), it is said that Pan favored the Athenians and so inspired panic in the hearts of their enemies, the Persians.

Stoned Ape Theory
This is a hilarious clip from Duncan Trussell's Comedy Central Pilot "Thunderbrain." The animation and voice over was by Will Carsola from daybyday and it was produced by RZO Hothouse. The Stoned Ape Theory is of course by Terence McKenna.

Underground LSD Palace - Mini Documentary about NeuroSoup's Krystle Cole
This is a mini-documentary about Krystle Cole of NeuroSoup.com, had no idea about her history! I've added her to the Psychonaut page among some of my greatest heroes, and rightfully so as she's the most vocal and helpful psychonaut alive right now.

Binaural Beats: What they are & how they work by Neurosoup
The coolest girl on the youtubes explains Binaural Beats. I bet she's got a crazy stash in that awesome hat! Binaural Beats don't do much for me, they help evoke a meditative state - oh rly, while I'm meditating? :p Yo dawg we heard you like meditating so we put binaural beats on your iphone so you can meditate while you meditate! Sadly they can't produce entheogenic effects. They can help a beginning meditation practice, though I don't use them so my meditation can take me wherever it may.

Teresa of Ávila quotations

Let nothing disturb thee;
Let nothing dismay thee:
All thing pass;
God never changes.
Patience attains
All that it strives for.
He who has God
Finds he lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.
I do not fear Satan half so much as I fear those who fear him. (thanks to Lon Milo DuQuette for using it in his book Low Magick)
Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul.
To have courage for whatever comes in life — everything lies in that.
There are more tears shed over answered prayers than over unanswered prayers.
Pain is never permanent.
God gave us faculties for our use; each of them will receive its proper reward. Then do not let us try to charm them to sleep, but permit them to do their work until divinely called to something higher.
Reflect upon the providence and wisdom of God in all created things and praise Him in them all.
Be gentle to all and stern with yourself.
