A dialog between Terence McKenna and Robert Hunter (Grateful Dead lyricist).

Robert Hunter was an early volunteer test subject (along with Ken Kesey) for psychedelic chemicals at Stanford University's research covertly sponsored by the CIA in their MKULTRA program. He was paid to take LSD, psilocybin, and mescaline and report on his experiences, which were creatively formative for him:

"Sit back picture yourself swooping up a shell of purple with foam crests of crystal drops soft nigh they fall unto the sea of morning creep-very-softly mist... and then sort of cascade tinkley-bell like (must I take you by the hand, every so slowly type) and then conglomerate suddenly into a peal of silver vibrant uncomprehendingly, blood singingly, joyously resoundingbells....By my faith if this be insanity, then for the love of God permit me to remain insane."

in reading your books I was struck with how closely your DMT experiments paralleled my own. I wasn't surprised by the confirmation, as you might guess. I considered myself a serious DMT explorer between 1967-69. I stopped only because I was told to, in no uncertain terms, by the Boss of that place. Three times, in fact, to my dismay. Disobedience was costly. I was informed that I'd been shown all that was mine to know, to use that, and not try to extract more. I've written of the classes and varieties of DMT experience in a chapter of my journal, memoirs, and will send it along at some point. The experiences were commanding and altered my grasp of reality. DMT invokes the various dimensions of its domain through pathways characterized by brisk rhythms."

This discussion also illustrates how entheogens like DMT are excellent tools to access states of consciousness, but meditation and other yoga practices are the excellent tools to access states, but also evolve to higher stages of consciousness. Am I repeating myself? I guess I am :p

Don't really like the language used here myself, but if you can get over it, it sure is fascinating. I offer this as catma probable, not dogma absolute. Check out the comments for some re-shaping of it.

The Invisibles: Volume 1; Issue 1

DC Comics is offering all legal like the first issue of the coolest comic ever , for those who don't know them, they are invisible after all: The plot follows a single cell of The Invisible College, a secret society battling against physical and psychic oppression using time travel, magic(k), meditation, and physical violence.

For most of the series, the team includes leader King Mob; Lord Fanny, a Brazilian transgendered shaman; Boy, a former member of the NYPD; Ragged Robin, a telepath with a mysterious past; and Jack Frost, a young hooligan from Liverpool who may be the next Buddha (psst: we all may be the or a next Buddha). Their enemies are the Archons of Outer Church, interdimensional alien gods who have already enslaved most of the human race without its knowledge.

Not much use for synchromystic analysis when it's all out in the open, and that's what is so excellent about this comic!

8 Circuits of Consciousness & OSI-Layers

The "8 Circuits of Consciousness model" is a heuristic model I include a lot on the blog, because I find it incredibly useful for navigating neurological space, aka consciousness, aka reality.

When still working in IT I had a job interview where I was asked if I knew the OSI-Layers Model. I did not, and learned it by heart. Of course, I never got asked about it again lol. I recently found out after 3 years of not thinking about it anymore I still knew it through my mnemonic. To me it fits quite well next to the 8 Circuits model. As it is an Open Systems Interconnection model, which basically means the inter-operating of "circuits". Same difference.

Note: The following will probably make no sense whatsoever if you're not familiar with the model already, but if ye were to read up on the 8 circuit model, it might provide some enlightenment later!

The OSI Layers are a model for computers network communication, and hilariously enough - I now realize with enough flexibility (maybe enormous flexibility) one can put them side by side if you consolidate circuit 7&8 into Application hehe.
